Much love to the fans that are always positive, and much love to the fans that are tired of being mislead and letdown by this team.
It's refreshing to see your feelings on display as long as they're not going against forum rules. The days of high praise for this team, has decreased and I've seen fans on here recently say how they feel. We're no longer optimistic about this team.
Expressing our feelings doesn't mean we're not cowboys fans, it just means we're tired of being tired!! There's players on this team who aren't living up to their contract, owner's that aren't living up to a winning atmosphere!
Money has to be second to winning and being successful, say how you feel cowboys fans! Say it proud!!!
I'm one of those guys who goes and rates services online from businesses I have dealt with. Google has a pretty good rating system that is easy to comment. I especially go and give my thoughts when the experience has been exceptional. Because.....
Most of the comments are negative. People want to skewer someone.
"My car was due at 2pm, but when I got there they didn't pull it out until 2:20 pm. Run to the Google rating system and hammer them."
Think this isn't so, then go to Youtube and pull up the TicTok videos and watch the ones where someone gets too much ketchup on her hamburger and goes ballistic. Or something goes wrong and a person is tearing up a fast food joint. Karens going off on people for no reason.
Think this isn't so. Then tell me about cities burning.
America has gotten vicious. There was a time when fans of this team would be disappointed, but stick with it. Now a player asks for a raise and people on this site act like that player is taking food out of the fan's kid's mouth.
I certainly stand behind the sentiment when talking about the brain trust of this team. They are culpable because of their decisions.
But the nitpicking of every moment and player and coach, and it becoming the townsfolk with pitch forks and torches against people who were drafted or hired by this team. Not like they applied for the job in the case of players. But selected, and if they make an error, the fans here literally hate them.
Think that isn't the case. It started with Murray. The guy was a baller. But he wanted a raise and the fans started speaking out against him. Schultz wanted a raise, and the fans hated him. Elliott. Dak.
And now, and this is priceless, people are beginning to speak out against Parsons. I saw a thread yesterday where a fan wanted to trade Diggs and Cee Dee. Because to the fan the grass is always greener.
No sir, this isn't the same as it was fifteen years ago. Or even ten years ago. Fans would speak out, have doubts, but still back the team.
Today there is vilification, and hatred spewed all over this site. And this place is a microcosm of sports in general, and this nation. The same voices intrude on every thread, no matter what, to express their spite for a hand full of subjects here. No discussion is held without a specific crew voicing the same bilge over and over. As if these people enjoy spilling it out all over others who wish to
just talk football. Because that little aspect is going bye bye, and the Hatfield and McCoys war is in almost every thread.
I don't believe your rejoicing in this phenomenon takes into consideration the slow erosion of civility all around us.
Think I'm wrong? Read any of the Michael Irvin threads and the shade tree lawyers, just like the shade tree coaches, GM's, and QB's, lash out at even the most benign comments which seem to side with the idea Irvin might be innocent. Nitpicking every comment, no validation needed, to impale Irvin because at one time in his life he made bad decisions, and had the unmitigated gall to do so as a public figure. Because as we all know, no one grows up, and becomes the better person than they were thirty years ago.
No sir, this ain't your father's fan base.
