1. "Turning at high rates of speed" and "Superior handling" are not the same thing. NASCAR cars turn a "high rates of speed", are they known for their handling?

2. I didn't twist your damn words around, you're doing a good enough job of that yourself.

3. None of those cars are known for superior handling except for maybe the porsche, and I seriously doubt those are stock tires on it. Just like the tires on that bugati aren't stock.

4. "Lower profile tires are better. Period." Are you freakin' DUMB? I already said - incase your ignorant arse can't read "Yes, low profile tires are better for high performance". You chose to be an ignoramous and focus on the "But it doesn't mean the lower the better" part. Get a freakin' clue.

5. Most exotics are NOT known for their handling. Most are for SPEED and LOOKS. Just like the bugati. Post some pics of cars that are KNOWN for great handling... go ahead, it's not hard. I'll give you a hint... tuners (although I hate them) are the best handling cars out of musclecars, tuners, and exotics. If you haven't figured that out yet then you really don't know a thing about cars.

6. You even posted pics earlier - before you went on a moronic rampage - of tires that you said you preferred and I posted "Those are just right." Then you decided to come out with the "I didn't say 'the lower the better' but here's some pics of cars that aren't known for superior handling that have tiny tires on them" stupidity. Seriously dude, you got lost in this thread a long time ago. I implore you to go back and read the whole thing so that you can figure it out this time.

Man looks like you are getting way off track here. This back and forth garbage is stupid and everything I told you is straightforward and clear. Read the following quotes yet again:

Rowdy;1932593 said:
The low profile tires you see in both the KITT car and the ZO6 picture typify high performance. You get much better handling with lower profile tires. That is just the way it is. Sure you don't have to go that low but these types of tires are put on most of the major high performance cars out there be it the Z06, 911, Enzo, etc.

Rowdy;1933538 said:
Actually, I was correct. The lower profile tires do provide better handling. Thats a fact. All your doing is twisting my words around by acting like I think there is no limit to the lowering. "Lower profile tires provide increased handling." That's the truth. To insinuate I said that the "lower the better" is false. Everything has its limits. Thats like me insinuating you think gargantuan sidewalls are better because they provide an increased protection to the rim.

This all started because you stated that those tires on the KITT car are not conducive to handling. The reality is I wont hash the small difference in sidewall height to that car or the pictures I just posted of some various supercars. Those exotics have some serious lateral gs. If they could not handle such extremely low profile tires, then the manufacturers wouldnt be using them. Stop arguing with yourself.

I don't care if you guys argue about tires until you are blue in the face.

However...knock off the personal insults and name calling.

It is just not needed.

It's Tires people...TIRES and you guys are going at each others throats like someone just smacked your momma or other loved relative.

Chill with the personal attacks.

GETCHA POPCORN READY! I didnt come out of nowhere and go off on some tangent. I was addressing you and you only based on the quote you made in a previous reply right here:

Sorry but this is incorrect. Technically "Low Profile" tires provide better performance but that doesn't mean "The lower the better". The tires on the KITT car are TOO low and you WILL drag your rim across the pavement if you corner too hard in it. Not to mention the "ride" is horrible in cars with that much rim/too little tire.

YOU started that whole low BS. Also when I posted those pics, you are incorrect. I never said one thing about preferring those cars. I OWN those cars. I said the tires I have are a good compromise. I was showing what the middle was of the extremes posted.

This is exactly all you've been doing the whole thread.

And not all those tires on those cars are stock (aka they weren't provided by the manufacturer). But don't let facts get in your way.

Oh look, here's a pic of an SUV with giant rims/small tires. They MUST come like that from the plant since I found a pic of it on the internet...

I'm sure that SUV handles like a charm with those little tires on it.

I bet this hummer kicks butt off road...

Whoa! I thought you might go this route but those are 100% manufacturer- rated sidewall height on those and others I could provide you. Not one of those pictures were of any bling bling Dub tires. Those are stock tires on stock vehicles.

to clarify, not to insinuate. You insinuated that I insinuated.

And those pics were of your cars, those are you tires, yet you don't prefer those tires? That's the only thing I "insinuated". I figured if you went and bought aftermarket tires for your cars that you actually preferred thsoe tires. How dumb of me.

That's not much different than if I were to post a pic of a 4x4 and say "See, those tires are big, and the manufacturer wouldn't put them on there unless they were the best for handling".

The Saleen S7 pulls 1.10 Gs. It rides on High-performance Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s-Front 275/30ZR19 Rear 335/30ZR20. Here is the stock tire for your viewing pleasure.

The Koenigsegg utilizes these as well.

I will go with the majority of those out there that agree that these exotics are capable of some great cornering. The sidewalls or shoulders are stiffened to handle these forces. These aren't for cruising down BlingBling Boulevard.

This has gotten old and perhaps a great theater for those muching popcorn so Im done with this back and forth nonsense. You can have the last rebuttal and I wont respond so maybe itll make you feel better about yourself. :D

I enjoy a good technical debate and think this one has run its course. Have a great weekend Rack!

Yeah, I had no idea the Lotus was probably the best handling out there production-wise. I knew it was way up there. I did do a search and that sucker kept popping up.:D

I thought about getting one next year but live in Tulsa and I don't think there are any dealers here in case it needs servicing.

The RX8 is ok but I wish I had the handling of that with the torque of the GXP. The RX8 just doesn't have enough power.

Hey I couldn't touch the car for the first 4-6 months that I had it cuz of legal problems. The bastid ebay seller claimed it had a 440 in it, but it was a 383 instead. Ebay said it wouldn't have mattered if it were a 4 cylinder, I was screwed and they'd do nothing about it.

And now that I've got it dismantled I think the frame (not really a "Frame" cuz it's a unibody, but you know what i mean) is bent. I don't know enough about cars to know for sure, but I think it looks bent, and also there's some "tears" in the metal on the underside of the frame rails. It looks like the attached some chains or something and tried to straighten it back out. After I get it media blasted (hopefully soon) I'll take it to a frame shop and see what they say.

ugh. I've heard doing a resto and running into a bent frame is possibly the hardest obstacle to over come, due to the cost to fix it. but thats when my uncle was fixing up his 68 Camaro some 12 years ago
