I'm sure there are women that will. I'm not doubting the craziness of females in certain situations....at all. But unless she is brandishing a knife or gun, I'm walking, getting in my car and gone. She can destroy the apartment but its better than me being in jail. In this situation that is what I'm saying. Hell, if you don't want to leave the apartment and she is coming at you like that, shut the bedroom door, lock it and call 911. There are many options besides hitting and/or tossing someone. JMO/.

well to start with don't date crazy women.....

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose

Walking away is a great plan, but not always realistic

How many slaps ,scratches, punches could you take before you are able to escape from the situation?

Sometimes self defense and physical restraint are the only options.

Again, TWO DIFFERENT scenarios. You are saying what did another girl and her toddler brother accomplish by walking away. That isn't the case here. Please people. that girl could fight back if she wanted to. We are talking about a grown man who has a foot and 100 lbs on a woman. He could walk out of the apartment and that woman isn't going to run after him and beat him down. Please stop making excuses. Your incident and this one are not alike and just cover the real problem. I'm sorry but I find it comical and just FOS when men start finding excuses of when they can hit women. That is not right. Twist it all you want....its wrong. Twisting scenarios to figure out..."could I clock a girl here" is just mind-boggling. And before people start saying I'm on a high horse...I've been in the situation before and my actions spoke volumes and difused vs. made it worse for everyone.

I have been on the opposite end of abuse and have had to walk away. I didn't have it in me to hit hurt because I loved my ex-girlfriend. But I could have done some major damage if I had.

For the most part, men always have an out.

There are two "systemic" problems in the Greg Hardy saga IMO. One was the Judge ruling for the accuser, which isn't really unexpected. The other is the DA writing a CYA statement on the dismissal without acknowledging the problems with the accusers credibility.

Someone mentioned that a radio report in Dallas said the Bench Trial Judge was an activist and had lobbied to be assigned to this case. I don't know if either of those are true but she certainly was up for reelection and any of those three can be a red flag that she wasn't impartial in her ruling.

The website of her reelection campaign is pretty generic and doesn't mention Hardy. One thing that is interesting is that she lists this as the second bullet of her bio -

• Co-chair of Harvard's Battered Women's Advocacy Project

and on a funny note, lists this as well:

• Taught workshop on the benefits of stress reducing practices, such as Tai Chi and meditation, to family court employees;

But Hardy has no previous history with violent encounters. I really think that this was just another bad break-up that got elevated past a point that neither party ever wanted to go.

I don't think the accuser ever wanted it to get this far either. The police officer that arrived on scene after the 911 call said she refused to say anything but later he asked "Don't you want to know what they are saying about you inside?" (meaning Hardy's apartment). At that point she started the story that he had beaten her, threatened to kill her, etc. Then she didn't want to testify at the Bench Trial and ducked subpoenas from the DA afterward. Its not hard to picture the entire thing being something she did in an intoxicated rage that she wanted to get away from later.

Did anyone hear 105.3 the Fans take on this today at lunch?
Too much to type but the basics:
If there is sufficient evidence the state can prosecute without accuser testimony

Most of the time the accuser and the accused are both trying to smear the other which makes for shaky info

Lawyers are aware that a strong case can be made without the accusers testimony and it is common practice to proceed w trial of accuser isn't present

The fact that they chose not to pursue Hardy suggests that there wasn't enough evidence to build a strong case

It was well known that the accusers story changed so much that there was a very high chance that her testimony could've hurt the prosecutions case.

Yet here we see local media acting as if it's a foregone conclusion that Hardy is a monster that brutalized an innocent woman.

So much more to this story, and when it's all said and done I'm thrilled that we got Hardy for a year on the cheap. It's KRAKEN time!!!!

Some people want to feel morally superior to others. So they assume facts not in evidence and convince themselves as to what happened. Then they try too hard to convince everyone around them. Sorry, I will not crucify someone without actual proof of anything. And I will not tarnish an entire organization and everyone in it for taking the same stance. Too many people are jumping on this for their own agenda. As opposed to wanting the right thing. If you can prove he was guilty, incarcerate him. If you cannot prove his guilt, let the man get on with his life. Enough of the mock outrage for a crime that no-one can prove even happened. Let it go.

Just to clarify, are you saying that if a woman is coming after you with the intent to hurt you, is it morally or legally better to walk away? Or both?

I'm sorry, I'm know I'm supposed to respect what the mayor of Dallas says, but I don't. I don't care about him. Where was he when our guys wanted to build a new stadium. When he has domain over Arlington, where the Cowboys play, I'll care what he says.

Right! My situation was a long time GF where we never had issues like this except 3 years of break ups/reconnects. When I moved for law school the relationship was basically over but she came to visit. After watching a Tyson fight with a large group...yes TV Violence causes violence :)....she was pretty drunk and beligerant. We got in my car to go to one more place and after I told her to get it together she full on punched me with my glasses on. Cracked the lens and barely missed going in my eye. But cut me above the eye. Left bruising too. My first and only reaction was "***"'and getting out of the car. It never escalated and she flew home the next day. Me in her face or doing something back would have ruined a career before it started.

The Great Tom Landry had his share of shady players....from what I have read there was no evidence to suggest that Hardy did what they say he did...he called 911......so all the talking heads need to get off their moral high horses....The bottom line is winning football games...

Both though I don't like the word "morally." Sounds preachy. I was just taught never touch a woman and there is always another out. I believe there is in a majority of cases. Now life and death is different.

I completely understand that men cannot hit women like they would a man because of the legal system of today.

However ethically (sounds less preachy than morally), I have been taught that women are equal to men. If a woman were to strike me first, I would not hit her because of the legal repercussions, but I cannot condemn a man who hits a woman who hit him first, no matter her size. If a smaller man hits a bigger man, no one would bat an eye if the bigger man hits him despite the size discrepancy. I never got why that was the case? Are women immune to repercussions of their actions just because they're women? I guess it's just two schools of thought.

What's the old saying? You want to act like a man I'll treat you like a man.

lol at whoever said that it is better to leave and let her destroy all your things.

Thank goodness I am 6'3" If I was a small man I would be screwed like women have been for centuries. Women should take responsibility for their action just like men and I categorically reject the notion that I should abandon my home and property to an aggressor.

There are ways out. Around 1974 or so I was married to a beautiful lady. However....

One really hard day after work I came home tired as hell. Well, my then wife wanted me to eat right then and there after she had prepared, I think pork chops or what not...I told her I just need to lay down first. Well, that did not go well.

We argued for a second, then I made the terrible mistake...I got off the couch, went to the table and threw the plate of food in the trash then went and layed back down to take a nap. I shut my eyes and after maybe a minute or so, woke up with a pain in my breast bone where she stabbed me with some sharp scissors! It only made a little puncture wound but it started to bleed like hell, and I had a white tee shirt on! As she was coming down again with the scissors, I blocked her arm and got up off the couch to get away.

Pissed, I told her I was leaving the house and went out the front door not knowing where to go or what to do, bleeding like hell. As I was leaving (i had a St. Bernard puppy at the time)...she told me to take my ******* dog or she would cut his throat! I loved her so much....

Well, to make a long story short, we eventually made up and everything was good...or so she thought.

About a week or so later, I came home from work on a Friday and I asked her if she needed to go to the store because I had just got paid. She said she did so I gave her a 100 dollars and asked her to get me some new socks. OK...all smiles all around.

As soon as she turned the corner out of sight, I grabbed a trash bag, filled it with some underwear socks, tee shirts, and some other crap, bungy corded it to the back of my Harley and hit the friggen road...never to see her again, not even when we got divorced. I wanted to kill the beoch but knew better.

Unless you are backed into a corner with no escape possible and a woman is trippen on you, then and only then should you be justified to hit a woman.

However, domestic violence is not just a man thing...it takes two to tango. Women can be as mean as any hood rat, but the perception in society seems to go against a man in violent situations. Mine turned out fine.

All this attention to Hardy.....Out cry by Dale Hansen.....

What happened to Jamie Winston? About to be #1 pick......turning over a new leaf for the draft.

Rape allegations, racial slurs, basically robbing the store.......all dismissed because no one will testify against him in State of Florida....

Is he already on strike 2 with Goodell or college is college and slate is clean.

North Carolina Attorney General and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney need to counter sue the NFL and make it clear the NFL is a business and not a court of law. Should Taco Bell be allowed to sue the North Carolina Attorney General and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney over information about one of their employees? Of course not and the NFL should not have any special rights over other businesses. This problem needs to cured even if it has to go to the supreme court to put the NFL in its place. The NFL is not a court of law, or a police department, or a legislative branch. The NFL is a business and deserves no special privilege or special information. The court reports and information are not the NFLs business. The NFL needs to be put in its place and in no uncertain terms

As stated above, let the legal system do it's job.
