No I'm not. I have said over and over again that I think the Cowboys defense will regress statistically, even though it is a better unit than last year.

Dallas won 12 games and gave 2 away with stupid stuff in the 4th quarter and lost a meaningless one. They got lucky in early in the season when the QB was injured, but the QB being injured probably cost them the first game against Philly. 12 is about right. Maybe it's 11, maybe it's 13. There's no reason for them to regress.

You're ignoring the litany of injuries that Dallas also had, for some reason, which is the more important point relative to Philly.

Also, the idea that the Lions and Giants were better if not for injuries is massively stupid. The Cowboys beat them by ~20. It was also Dak's first game back and DET came off the bye lol and they beat NYG week 2 with Rush.
So when the Cowboys are injured that is super important and points to something however when detroit is playing without their two starting wr, their starting running back and playing their first game after having traded their number 1 TE to minnesota that does not mean anything?

K got it.

Yeah, I think divisional competition could pose more of a problem for them this year.
Iron sharpens iron. Back when all 5 teams in the NFC East were tough the division won the Super Bowl like 7 out of 10 years. '86 Giants, '87 Ratscums, '88-'89 Niners, 90' Giants, 91' Ratscums, '92-'93 Cowboys, '94 Niners and finally '95 Cowboys. I'm fine with the other teams in the division being better. Playing championship level competition within the division worked out well in the past. LFG!!

I didn't say it didn't mean anything. But to sit here and say it was the single reason the Cowboys won that game is laughable.

Go ahead and say that Dallas only wont that game because the Lions WRs were hurt lmao.

He tossed a career high 24 TDs his rookie year, but also had a career high 12 INT’s. Although he only had 15 TDs last season, he had a career low 5 INTs. He didn’t take near as many chances with the football last season to reduce his turnovers. He had a career high in yards and completion percentage. He also had a career high passer rating. Even though his numbers weren’t huge, the arrows are pointing up with him. I’m certainly not saying he’s a great QB, but he has gotten better. I’m also not saying the Giants are going to win the NFC East, I’m simply saying you can’t sleep on them.
Totally get it you have some sound reasoning here. Me personally, I’ll be sleeping comfortably on the Giants (and Washington) until they prove they can actually threaten us.

I am confused by this man.. The Cowboys were not relatively healthy. Their starting RB missed two games and played the back half of the season in a knee brace. Their starting LT missed 3/4 of the season. The starting RT missed the last 3-4 games and the playoffs. Oh and their QB missed 5 games. The also faced Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence. That's a pretty solid slate of QBs and you can throw Cousins and Daniel Jones in there too depending on who you ask. I do however agree with your first statement. The Eagles were very good last year. Hard to say whether they can repeat that success. Especially their offense because it's heavily reliant on a gimmick. And eventually gimmicks get figured out. As Hurts develops as a passer they may be able to dial that back some.. Time will tell.
Touche on the injury part.

The Eagles had an easier path with QBs than us-- no debate there. They basically got to the super bowl only having to play Dak once, Cousins (Ha!) and Aaron Rodgers for half a game.

But I also felt it was an easier year for us against QBs. Might be the norm going forward since all of the talent is in the AFC now.

When it comes to the Cowboys they better not sleep on anyone, because that’s how they get beat. The Cowboys only had one score wins over the Giants in both games last season and they lost to Washington and a rookie QB in the season finale. With the tough schedule the Cowboys have this season, they better show up ready to play every week or this could be a rough season, especially if they suffer a rash of injuries to some key players. As many times as the Cowboys have burned the fanbase, I’m not about to sleep comfortably on anyone we play.

I’m not the players lol. They shouldn’t sleep but I definitely will be.

I expect to go 4-2 in division or better seeing as we’ve done so every year of the Dak era.

Don’t know why you sleep on teams when you’ve seen what’s happened to the Cowboys in previous seasons. The Packers were riding a six game losing streak when we faced them last season, were you sleeping on them? Jacksonville had a losing record when we faced them, were you sleeping on them? Were you sleeping on Washington entering week 18 who had a rookie QB making their first NFL start? I don’t sleep on anyone we play.

We also don’t play man. Our feelings have zero bearing on the outcome of the game.

The players should never sleep. Fans can sleep on who they want, literally doesn’t matter.

I never sleep on Hall of Famers, so no didn’t sleep on Rodgers.

I did sleep on Washington, but it’s about time they win a game against Dak. Last time they did so was 2018 lol. We also just had a pure stinker which happens to every team once or twice a year. I’ll grab my pillow and snooze again on them this year.

Dallas - should be better, if healthy.
Philly - think they have lost just enough talent \ experience to pull them back a hair.
NYG - they could leapfrog Philly if their young talent contributes or they could float around .500.
Washington - young QB, breath of fresh air now that Snyder is gone. Who knows which way it goes. Have a lot of talent. If they get everyone playing full tilt, they could surprise.

Our feelings may have zero bearing on the outcome of a game, but the Cowboys losing to bad teams has a bearing on how fans feel about the team. A majority of the fanbase has lost confidence in the Cowboys. They never seem like they’re committed to being a great team. Every season they lose to at least a couple of bad teams, and at least one average or inexperienced QB. Three of their five losses last season were to teams they were favored against. It’s about time the Giants win a game against Dak and we’re likely to at least split against them this season. If you snooze you lose and the Cowboys need to learn not to snooze on anyone. Our great teams that won championships didn’t go out and lay eggs against bad teams. They didn’t let bad teams off the hook that were down by two scores. They had a killer instinct and buried them.

Dallas also blew multiple 14-point leads in the 4th quarter, played 5 games without its own QB and had a host of other injuries. Plus, Dallas also got better in the offseason, Philly didn't.

So no, it's not the same logic.
They added probably the best player in the draft & another guy who was thought to be a top 15 pick. If you aren't going to project their draft additions, you shouldn't project ours.

Yeah they lost some talent, experience & coaching but who knows what the net difference is until we have some games on film?

If Dallas & Detroit play late in the season, who you think wins?

I am not sure but I am 100% convinced we wouldn't win by 20 like we did earlier in the season. If it's a 20 point spread, I think we are taking the L.

The NFC East had three teams in the playoffs, and they all won at least one playoff game, and Philly made it to the Super Bowl. The only thing keeping Washington out of the playoffs is their QB situation. There isn’t anything about the NFC East that would be surprising this season with three playoff teams.

Eh, we went 12-5 and lost two games in overtime.

I’m much less worried about losing to teams worse than us than I am teams better than us. I’m looking at San Fran and whomever proves to be a true NFC contender.

They’ve proven in the McCarthy/Quinn era that as long as the health is ok this team wins double digit games and beats most of the teams they are better than. I do not have the Garrett era concerns that some may still have.

My concerns are how do we take the final step in beating the elite teams. It is not Giants/Washington or any other average to below average teams.

Losing to a couple of struggling teams in OT that we had down by at least two scores was troubling and told me the Cowboys didn’t have what it takes to reach the Super Bowl. Championship teams don’t blow games like that. I can deal with losing to teams that are better than us, but not to teams that we’re superior to. The Packers couldn’t beat anyone until they beat us, then they went right back to losing. I was totally disgusted with the team after that loss. The Cowboys have too many players that are full of themselves, and the team ends up becoming complacent. Once again they’re starting up with the Hot Boyz crap again.
