I see all these threads about how the NFC East race is over..Others asking if the Giants done..etc. I will admit after last nights debacle in New Orleans my head also got a little big and I began talking smack to a few buddies of mine. However, this morning my confidence is shaken a bit.

Everyone is expecting the following to happen

Cowboys win @ AZ -
and
Giants lose vs GB

First and foremost, I am not even certain we will beat the Cardinals this weekend. I have an uneasy feeling about this game. But just to play along, lets see everything does go as planned on Sunday, and we have a 2 game lead over the NYG.

I think people are just assuming we will beat the Giants in Dallas. I dont think it is going to be that easy, hell, this team never makes it that easy. I have a gut feeling that this team IS going to win the NFC East, BUT, we are going to SHOCK the world (slightly) and win it on New Year's day at the new Meadowlands. Everyone is going to be talking about how we can't win big games, people will remember the 44-6 debacle in Philly, and nobody is going to give this team a chance.

This team has changed, it has improved, and it has learned from its experiences. We WILL win the NFC East, but it is going to be in a winner takes all format in week 17 @ NY.

Just remember this thread when you are on the verge of clowning this team heading into that week 17 game

I really think we need to beat Giants at home. We will more likely take the division but we could have home field advantage if we win out. 49ers will lose to Steelers and have four divisional games left including three at road. They could be easily 12-4 or 11-5.

We will be No.2 seed if we win out.

:dissgint: :chainsaw: While it won't be easy, I think we FINALLY beat the Ginas at home this year. We better!

I'm pretty close to clowning us now. Not because we look unstoppable, but because the Giants look awful and the Eagles have already tanked.

I had a bad feeling about the Dolphins game. I don't at all about AZ. I think we win next week going away. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Giants beat GB, but it would be surprising. Either way, they're going to come into DAL with their season on the line in a few weeks, and we'll have all the cards in our favor. Playing at home, with the division lead, and, frankly, a better team. That's a game where we want to break their back if we possibly can, and it will tell us a lot about how far we've come. Or haven't come.

It's going to be an awesome game. I can't wait.

if that happens, giants lose to gb and we beat arz and nyg, we will have clinched.

I am expecting a win against the Cardinals. I won't say it will be an easy win, but they will find a way. Despite what happened at Arizona in the past, I have no trepidation.

Dallas may have a chance to win the division in two weeks when they play the Giants.

If this team is smart and wants to give themselves a real shot at winning the whole thing, they have a tremendous opportunity over the next three weeks. The Giants WILL lose to the Packers, they are simply not capable of covering their wide receivers. So, if we can beat the Cards in what should essentially be a home game, break the back of the Giants the following week, we're looking at a Tampa Bay matchup that can decide if we get a two-week bye going into the playoffs.

Here's why -- we will have clinched the division, we will be locked into the #4 seed and not much of a reason to try and get to the #3. We could literally start game-planning for the playoffs directly after the Tampa Bay game, play a bunch of backups in the final two games of the regular season to get them some more game experience, get the starters healthy and we should roll into the playoffs.

It's a good theory I still think the Giants can beat the packers if healthy ( bradshaw back ) I dont count out coughlin but I think Osi is hurt so it wont be easy for them, nothing is set in stone in this division we just need to beat AZ this weekend and see what happens.

Giants often beat teams they shouldn't then choke against those they should.

Packers are due to lose for sure.

Still, all this fear about the Arizona game is funny.

I do believe we'll be Arizona and they lose to Greenbay.

I'm confident that we're going to be the Giants and Eagles after that as well. I think our stumble happens against the Bucs and then we'll get the Giants again and head into the playoffs hot at 11-5 and winners of the NFC East.

I think Dallas will essentially win the division on December 11th.

I say we win the next four, then tank the last game

Well if we have the chance to keep the Giants out, do so.

Someone was asking yesterday what is the most critical game remaining, and I truly believe Sunday's game against Arizona is one that we really need. We have so much momentum right now and are looking at a likely New York loss to Green Bay. A victory over Arizona puts us in a position where we could, for all intents and purposes, lock up the division with three games remaining.

But a loss to Arizona, a team we should unquestionably beat, brings back in the rest of the field. It not only messes with potential seeding, but it would give new hope to a Giants team that is on the ropes.

So, yeah, I think if we lose Sunday that we'll be sweating out the divisional race until Week 17. If we win, I think we'll have a chance to wrap it up on the 11th.
