I thought it was more about additional choices of entertainment with new technology and options to view programming?

Truthfully, I'm old school on technology and perhaps not a good test subject but I haven't watched network TV, except for baseball and football in over 10 years. I don't even get my news there anymore.

I agree with the sentiment, but when did the Giants get hit hard?
They have 12 or so Drug Suspensions in the last 6 years and several Conduct Suspensions

They aren't given some Free Pass like it is alleged

From a quick review it looks like they are almost all drug suspensions. They sure haven't had a guy singled out like Zeke was.

The NFLPA will have its work cut out for them in 2019, that's for doggone sure.

There'll be some hardcore negotiations taking place and possibly even a strike.

The unfair conditions that players put up with regarding suspensions must end.

How the nfl handled the Brown thing compared to the Zeke fiasco says plenty about consistency and “justice”. Given all the missing and contradictory evidence with Zeke and very clear evidence with Brown it’s reasonable, to me, to conclude some bias was present in the rulings.

The subsequent re-ruling on Brown was a transparent farce and was in a way comical.

As all things today when concerning unions, commissioners etc... its all political. All Biased as hell, and if your not liked by the panty wearing, night time ladyboy dress up IE Godell, then your fooked. Case in point Zeke Elliott. No one can stand there and make the case THAT 6 game was anything but political hacking against this team. Everyone in here has posted good points on this... it's a dead horse. Until the owners actually step up and do the right things, it's going to continue to be so.

Zeke's case was the standard bearer for all new cases....it was supposed to be different

They brought in Lisa Friel and the other woman and investigators to make sure they got a conviction

It was the Rice and JBrown fiascos that created the Zeke lynch mob

Wasn’t the final Brown decision after Zeke?

Maybe I’m off. The last year has been a tough sports year for me.

Years from now they will change the way they punish or do investigations. They will then admit the Elliot suspension was wrong. Just like the Dez catch.

I’m 64 so I fall into the segment that hasn’t declined their TV habits. I still even read the morning paper. Besides this site or flipping thru FB I rarely use new technology except for things that I have no choice on. I don’t shop online, etc.

I have an old plan grandfathered in with AT&T I’ve had for prob at least 15 years with 1GB for$39.99 that I’ve never gone over on. Lol

My wife’s company provides her a cell with unlimited she’s had for like 25 years . She’s never had to own her own cell. Our monthly cell bill together has never been over $50

I use my laptop on WiFi or PC at home.

Aren’t we the fans the ones to blame?

Why should the nfl get in the business of “discipline”? Either the guy goes to jail or he doesn’t. If a guy gets away with a crime so be it.

It’s the fault of the fans who absolutely worship the fact these athletes are fast. And bc we worship them(cowboys fans are probably the worst offenders)

I don't think all punishments are equal nor do I think all violation by players are equal. Frankly the fact a player has to fail multiple drug test before he is suspended is a joke. Not even in criminal law is there 1 sentence for the same crime it normally has a range that may be handed down based on the circumstances. Robbery for instance can carry a sentence of 1 to 15 years that is a big difference

The NFL’s System of Discipline Is An Absolute Joke
http://profootballtalkline.com/nfl-opinion/news/116405/nfl-system-of-discipline-is-joke.html/

On Tuesday night, the NFL announced another round of suspensions pertaining to a variety of conduct issues among players, such as drug use, PED use, and domestic violence. They also announced their denial of Julian Edelman’s appeal of his PED suspension. This dumping of discipline, as well as that of Jameis Winston which was announced earlier in the week, once again demonstrates the NFL’s discipline process to be a complete and utter joke. From arbitrary punishments to baffling social and moral ideals, the NFL’s attempt to administer “justice” across the league is an embarrassment to the game of football and American sports as a whole.

The NFL, like all other professional sports leagues, has a number of rules and restrictions that dictate the behaviors of players both on and off the field, from personal conduct policies to limits on the types of substances that players can put in their bodies (both recreationally and professionally). It is important to note that the NFL is not wrong for implementing these policies. Players should be held up to certain social and moral standards as they are both professionals and role models. In addition, while there are fair and reasonable debates that argue that players should be allowed to utilize some PED’s and some types of recreational drugs (such as marijuana), the NFL is still a private company and is allowed to place these restrictions on their employees if they see fit. The problem is not in these rules themselves, but rather in the bizarre and illogical way in which they are enforced.

Let’s start with the process itself. When an incident occurs with a player, the NFL investigates the situation and then uses the collected evidence to make an informed decision, through which they determine a punishment. Well, sometimes. Other times, such as with Ray Rice, the NFL does not independently or thoroughly investigate the situation at all, instead choosing to simply hear the player’s side of the story and make an arbitrary decision based on one meeting. In situations like this, the league puts absolutely no effort into searching for the truth of the matter, but rather hoping that a quick suspension will be able to push the matter out of people’s minds...
In before anyone thinks they feel the need to argue or defend the NFLs reasonings and think we're making this about the cowboys.

The person in charge of the process is the problem.
Which are the owners who have given Commish the power. The players signed off on it.

We are directing our anger the wrong direction. That’s why he’s getting 50 million a year to take brunt of it. It’s worth that to the owners.

Goodell is just the Hit Man or Buffer. It’s the Mob Bosses( owners) that want this policy to present to the Networks, Sponsors and potential fringe fans out there they are at least attempting to police themselves .

The last thing the league wants is for a special interest group to get involved and push legislation to take the leagues Anti Trust rights away which also makes them tax exempt.

Always follow the money trail people. This isn’t about justice.
