The NFLPA had better recognize this is the end of the NFL

A seemingly dramatic title, but I am convinced it is not inflated whatsoever. The commissioner, with blinders on, has just opened Pandora's box of lawsuits and accusations. Every opposing fan can simply start accusing the star players of other NFL teams, and get players quickly banished.

Today's decision, in defiance of the law and proven innocence of Ezekiel Elliott's specific charge of domestic violence, has set the worst precedence. The NFL commissioner cleans out star players, because demonstrably false charges of domestic violence are secondary to maintaining positive PR.

Many of us have realized this today.

Next step, next course of action.... WHAT?

Do we flood the NFLPA with our concerns, with the goal to immediately begin a new CBA amendment that severely limits commissioner discipline? Do we artificially file frivolous lawsuits against every NFL player? Do we simply do nothing these 10 days, and let the avalanche of accusations just happen over the coming years, due to precedent? The NFL will fall because of what happened today, I assure you.

What is a good strategy?

This is my strategy to help my children not feel what us die hard fans feel. It's just not worth it anymore. It's too late for me..I'm hooked...a bit less each year...

First I want to say Zeke was on the wrong path and this decision might save his rear in long run. But I agree there are serious issues that need to be addressed. But lets keep in mind that 77% of NFL viewership are white and 50% are female. The NFL will cater to the viewers who are building their bank accounts. NFL looks like they want to purge the league of trouble makers. I don't necessarily think that is bad idea but it should be done fairly and evenly. As I posted on another thread: Dallas is #17 in player arrest but are #1 in suspensions. The league does have the authority to have a higher standard than law enforcement but all of that is predicated on fairness across the league.

Michael Irvin didn't take down the league. Terrell Owens didn't take down the league. Greg Hardy didn't take down the league. Dozens of others.

The NFL is a lot bigger than Tom Brady and Zeke Elliott combined.

what I'm concerned with is that boycotting won't be an effective strategy, since the NFL will implode with this precedent.

I don't think any one is against the league cracking down on criminal activity. The issue with this is the same with the catch and other rules.

It is arbitrary based on who knows what. The NFL came out today and said Zeke is a criminal with ZERO due process as far as I am concerned and that is just un-American to me.

The cowboys make money for networks and media more for how much they are disliked as opposed to liked. They are the nfl's villain almost always and this kind of stuff happening is good for the nfl league wide.

go read the ny papers right now, the giants had a game tonight and both papers main stories are zeke and how he got what he deserved.

I have to imagine every owner and every front office is happy tonight for various reasons but mostly because it happened to Jerry and the cowboys.

Nobody cares what cowboys fans think and nobody could care less about fans, including Jerry who maybe cares the least.

Goodall works for the owners and when bad stuff happens like Aaron Hernandez and Ray Rice the media goes to him and not the various owners. He is paid to take the brunt of all this stuff. So I highly doubt the owners want to limit his powers. They are probably hoping to add to them in the next round of negotiations and crush the union even more.

...I think that's my beef with this whole thing!...Zeke wasn't found guilty by the law, the Authorities, the Courts...thus no crime IMMHO.
Yet it's not so cut and dry with the Commish.
When I first heard about the 6 game suspension...I felt a little nauseated...I assume Zeke is not feeling to good today either.

The only reason i still watch football to this day is because it's the best sport to watch... period.

Having said that..over the years this is not the game i grew up watching.

Commercials so rampant that you have to use a dvd on pause
Rule changes that you can't touch a qb or receiver without fear of a penalty.
Dictator commissioner who needs to be ousted asap
