Its not even worth the effort. He'll be fired after next year anyway.
I wonder. We could be setting ourselves up for long-term failure by way of short-term success. A crappy coach would inherit: a team with arguably a bunch of the right components already in place; an arguably easier schedule than the Cowboys have had in years; an arguably easier division than years as the Commanders have relatively few resources to replenish and could be floundering and the Giants are stuck with a very unpopular coach, without their superstar RB, ageing and fractious. The Eagles -- well, yeah, the Eagles could be good again.

So a crappy coach could pull off a playoff win or two next year, thereby indefinitely delaying Garrett's progression (and thus risk losing him as HC to other teams). Just a fear I have...

I just hope Turner got some good info while he spent the week coaching the offense. I think he will be a very good Head Coach. Go Norv.

Based on what....other than fact this appears to be what Jerry is going to do?

Based on his time in washington and his experience. He took over a 4-12 team and brought them into contention, a fluke away from playing for the SuperBowl.

He isn't taking over a 4-12 team, like he has in his other opportunities. He, for once in his coaching life, is going into a situation with a team that is ready to contend.

That is a whole different world. No more three seasons of rebuilding like he faced both in Washington and Oakland. He can hit the ground running with a team full of talent.

I'm excited about Norv and I am mature enough that I don't have to be entertained by an exciting HC option like some in here do.

He was there seven years, and once he got them to a divisional playoff game.

That does it for me...

No, it's excepting the fact that I do not find it necessary to have a "celebrity" HC like some people in here feel necessary to have.

Do you think that the Patriots fans were excited when Kraft hired the most boring option in NFL history 8 years ago?

He inherited a disaster during a time in the NFL when it took years to turn a team around. He did well with what he had.

Imagine what he can do with what we already have.

It has nothing to do with wanting a "celebrity". It has something to do with wanting a quality HC.

And people can bring up Belichick all they want, but I don't think he failed TWICE for two different organizations.

That's only because he was never hired by the Raiders.

How have the Coaches who followed Turner in Washington done in comparison to how Turner did?

The Raiders?????

He had seven years in DC. I think the Pats went from having the #1 pick in '91 to a SB in '96. The Jets went from one of the worst teams in the league to an AFC championship game in 2-3 years.

I live in VA. I had the opportunity to watch about every Commanders game the entire Norv era. He absolutely sucks a HC.

All that was under Parcells. We tried that road, and it did work to an extent. Now, let's finish it off with our man Norv.

How do you feel about Gibbs than? What has he done there? What did the great Spurrier do? How about Marty?

I'll put Turner up against any of them.

Like Norv has a history of taking teams to the top?

You can continue to blindly drink the kool-aid, but I'll pass.

You can pass if you want, I know Romo will be passing. Hopefully, into the record books.

Get ready to accept it, it is likely to happen. I wanted nothing to do with Phillips, but I would accept him if I had to.

I'm sure all Cowboys fans will accept whoever comes in, just like they accepted Barrry, Chan and Campo.

That doesn't mean it's a good hire.
