The Number 88 and Lamb

Jerry’s fascination with handing out this number has truly become ridiculous. Hopefully this was the last time but I doubt it.

“Deion sanders “, look good feel good feel good play good. I think it’s somewhat true. If I feel good about myself I probably would play better. I know if I get a haircut and I’m staring at myself in the mirror while I’m training I have a better workout. Stupid but realistically true
 
If CeeDee changes his number it probably would be next season when he doesn't have to pay off the inventory to the NFL...keep the bag.

It's really not that dramatic. It may not have looked good, but it isn't a major issue across the NFL or even the Cowboys fan base. I suspect most Cowboy fans have it pretty tucked away in the back of their minds by now.
 
We don't see CeeDee complaining about it!

Not sure why we'd object, when he doesn't.

Can't we dispel what doesn't concern us? o_O

I think for me personally a Cowboys jersey number 88 implies greatness in the individual who wears it. CeeDee Lamb and 88 bonds well together regardless of who suggested he wear that number. Next...

When I'm Owner - You have to earn the right to 88 with an All Pro year.

What is so special about 88? Is it because numerous good WRs had that number? Not so with #73 for Larry Allen, Ralph Neely and Danny Noonan (ha ha, I kid). If one more great wears #73, do we continue with the anointing ceremony?

Maybe when one flips the number 8 90 degrees it looks like infinity.

Not a big deal. Just seems interesting with the Cowboys and some fascination with 88. I’m kind of superstitious with numbers and assume deeper meanings than probably most people.

Huh? The team controls the jersey numbers. They were never going to cut Lamb, they were just going to not give him any number but 88 lol. The appropriate question is what would have Lamb done? Quit the team over not getting his jersey number of choice?

Agree 100%....he looks awkward as hell in the jersey.....he swims in it....88 is too boxy of a number for his build. Let him wear the number he feels most comfortable in....I know that I'd feel like a dork wearing white golf shoes....and no doubt not play as well. We all have our idiosyncrasies.

It is a big deal to jerry and it would be a slap to jerrys face if lamb changed his # to some other #.
A young player is not going to go against the owner of a team when the owner wants him to be a specific #.
He could sure but jerry would not like it, and lamb knows that.
