LOL, adjust away straw man. You'll never get all that talent to agree to a salary under the cap.
*** are you even talking about? They restructure contracts and structure FAs with low cap hits initially. Surely you aren't this clueless. The Cowboys can for a m absolute fact hand out 200 million to defensive FAs just like the Giants did last year. This is 100% irrefutable. Your typed out salary obligations may have seemed to back up your point, but they only prove you have no idea how contracts or the cap actually works.

Yes they could and it's been shown exactly how in multiple threads. The Giants only spent 10 million more on defense last year than the Cowboys did. They would be in an even better place the following year after signing players like the Giants did because they won't be paying a 25 million per year contract to their QB. Stop spreading false narratives around to people. If you want to argue the Cowboys won't, then fine. Nobody can really argue otherwise. Stop telling people they can't do something that has been proven over and over.

Nothing has been proven. You think someone has proved that we can sign 10 free agents if we want to huge contracts and it would be ok? Then why haven't we done it? Lol

They signed 200 million dollars worth of FAs. And yes it has been proven Dallas can do the exact same thing. Don't straw man me with that dumb crap. I never said anything resembling sign 10 FAs to huge contracts. Nobody has done it and it hasn't been mentioned one time by a single poster here besides in your straw man.

39,094 posts here so I'd imagine you've seen the "we can do whatever we want in free agency" theme.

Don't let the fact that we never actually do that deter you from believing.

Ah, but here's the catch, young grasshoppa. Dallas is always doing what they want. Limited cap space by choice, my friend.

So we've been mediocre by choice for the last 20 years?
That sure makes me feel better

success in free agency to the magnatude they experienced last year is more the exception than the rule.

If you want to see consistant free agency failure just look at the eagles and the Skins.

Trying to build a team with free agents is like trying to build a house from the roof down.

You can add the recent Buffalo team in that list also.

Didn't help them much when Green Bay destroyed that defense in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The Giants offense was pretty wretched -- average OL, bad RBs, bad TEs, one good WR.... they should have spent some of that money on the offense.
They have two good WR's FWIW.

Like you said the first year hit can be 10% of the contract

On a 5/75m deal these are the cap hits with a 25m sb
year 1 7.5m or 10%
year2 12m or 15%
year3 15m or 20%

then you can cut, continue or re-do as the guaranteed money is all gone
year4 18.5m or 25% OR 10% in dead money
year5 22m or 30% OR 5% in dead money

So for 200m in contracts you need 20m in space this year and 30m next year

Yes we can "do anything we want" covers 10 blockbuster free agents with room to spare. We can do anything we want is an open ended blank check. Don't backtrack now. Ride that horse all the way to the ground.

i put the calculation for 5 years out for 3 FAs at $15M AAV in a separate thread. feel free to check my math.
it does not blow up the cap if you cut the FAs after year 3 (june 1 cuts).

There's nothing to backtrack from because I didn't say that. Learn to read. I even went so far as to give specific numbers which are backed up by @bkight13 in the post above yours. Take your issues with other posters hyperbole up with them or find yourself having a one way conversation.

Comparing the Cowboys offense to Giants offense in 2016 is almost silly.

Our offense was so scary that other team were trying onside kicks and whatever else to have a chance to win...
I dont think they were scared of our defense...

Yes, because you typing out what their current obligations are makes what you say true. Those numbers can all be adjusted and I know you're aware of it. Last week the OL was a lot higher, but that doesn't suit this narrative of yours does it? I'm not going to debate you on a well proven point. You're wrong. You can't be anymore wrong. And you're never going to admit you are wrong. Hopefully the posters here see through this sham of knowledge you portray yourself as having.
You mad Bro?
