in another thread where i put forth the financial numbers, he said he like bouye, berry and perry for tickets to minneapolis
the problem is that it is not well understand that the cap can be readily gamed for a few FAs.
people naturally associated gap manipulation to team dismantling - which is simply not the case.

You've proven that you can't just look at overall statistics in comparisons.

The Giants defense carried a fairly inept offense while the Cowboys offense kept a so-so defense off the field.

If the Giants had had our offense, there's a good chance they would have been a better team than us because their defense was better and a big part of that was because of their free agency haul.
Exactly, if the Giants didn't go all out in FA on their defense they would be a 6 win team tops. It's their defense once again that allowed them to be competitive, rolled us two times and win 11 games for them. The Giants were a fast dying team...their splurge in FA kept them and Eli relevant for another year at least.

2016 Avg Offensive Plays per Game:
NYG - 63.6 (16th) Dal - 63.2 (18th)

2016 Avg Time of Possession:
NYG 28.08 (29th) Dal - 31.23 (3rd)

So while the Giants actually averaged more plays per game, they possessed the football (and kept their defense of the field) significantly less than the Cowboys.

Its probably time they concentrated on building a running game with the same fervor as their defense.

money should go to D.
if it is Ol, we need to sign/draft (pretty high) a RT.
Agreed. Money should definitely goto the D. I know we can't keep Leary and shouldn't keep him. Just hate knowing the enemy will use Free Agency to pick him up.

I have a feeling that the Gmen will look to free agency to rebuild the Oline and running game.

It got them all the way to the Super Bowl, where they scored 21 points -- 13 below their average -- against the NFL's #1 defense in points allowed per drive. Atlanta, New Orleans, Green Bay, and Dallas all averaged more points per drive than the Super Bowl champs. What separated the Patriots from those other teams was their defense.

points per drive
Atl off 1 def 27
NO off 2 def 32
GB off 3 def 28
Dal off 4 def 13
NE off 5 def 1

In theory, your offense could be so elite that it wouldn't matter how bad your defense was. In practice, no team with an elite offense ever won a Super Bowl playing bad defense.

Its been said a thousand times and still is just as true.....................offense wins games, defense wins championships

Well we cannot force the FA.
if we cannot get Perry or someone worth getting then go to plan B.
So if needs be, sign a $10M AAV OT like Wagner and $10M or more WR like Pryor.

Then use the picks to trade up to get in position to go BPA on a decent DE.
Not ideal, but may not have any choice.
Lets see who gets franchised.
