I would rather see what we have in Showers, might as well see what we have in him.

This....too many factors come into play when trading for a qb.
1)There is a lot to learn for a new qb in a new system, its not like trading for a DE.
2)QBs work with Wrs all offseason to learn tendencies and develop timing.
3)Why does a team want to trade their backup qb after two weeks?
4)If these guys were that great they would probably be starting on a team somewhere.

The offseason is the time to shuffle the roster, right now for the most part you go with the players you left camp with.

totally agree with you. I dont see a trade happening. But what I DO see is a veteran QB being signed to back up Weeden. I dont think they will be content with some young guy that hasnt played at least some games during the NFL regular season. IMO, this isnt the time or place to sign a young QB to the roster just because he was in camp earlier. Go get a veteran that has been around the league.

We cant have Showers trying to win us games....if Weeden goes down.

may as well forfeit. avoid more injuries

I posted that confidently but I honestly have no clue. We're prolly screwed.

Maybe he'll get up to the line and run a play unlike Romo and establish a rhythm instead of a slop fest of penalties.

The fluidly is awful right now. No flow even with Romo. The Oline is a mess mentally. It looks like a team that didn't play during the PS. Yet Brady is coming from his court case and starting during the PS. Weeden is awful. We all know this. He can throw the deep ball awesome, but we never see it. He will not make it 8 weeks either.

Unless, we go ball control with a bell cow, and have a game manager. It can happen. But we must find that runner bell cow IMO.

Thing about Weeden is he looks unreal throwing the ball.. Has all the skills you want..

Problem is that he has 1 huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge problem.

He is careless with the football. He will turn it over all day.

Cowboys have to somehow limit this or he will get us killed.

This is when a coach like Parcells would be nice because he'd randomly call Weeden at 4am and tell him to protect the football.

Weeden can win is some games, he isn't a great QB but he has a cannon arm. We can take deep shots with him. Also our guys are really good after the catch. Dunbar, Beasley and Williams can turn a 5 yard pass into a 60 yard TD. Butler should get better with the playbook and he is a burner.

Can't take Weedens game last year or with the Browns as why he sucks. Last season he played a top Cardinals defense. He looked good out there today. ......with a defense and special teams playing good you can win with subpar QB play. Just can't have turnovers

Why?

Tank.

Depending on the year, this is good for business. Unfortunately, we have too much talent to honestly tank and there is nothing worth tanking over. There's no obvious Romo replacement out there.

What about Geno Smith? He's not going to get his job back from Fitzpatrick anytime soon

Anything that costs us anyone is too much. He's not a viable quarterback.

They'd prolly give him away for peanuts, I'm not wanting him to start but if Weeden goes down we need someone who gives us a better chance than Moore/Showers

Not a popular pick but I'd try for sanchez. He's way better than weeden and moore. But highly doubt the eagles would be down. Lol here's another reason I'm sure I'll get stabbed. Should've signed vick!

Not that I would trade a pick for Sanchez, but why would the Eagles trade their backup for an often injured Bradford to a team they are fighting for the division title? That would make absolutely no sense.

There just isn't much out there at all. Probably best to hope we can keep Weeden upright until Tony gets back.
