what so you would not take Jared Goff. Hackenberg, to take Romo's place

I would love to take Hackenberg, but you might not need to be bad to get him. He's getting killed at Penn State. He could be a late first round early second round guy.

So, anyone think we should go QB in next year's draft?

Late first round (if we are there), early second round (if we have a higher pick). I see Hackenberg play at Penn State, and I get torn. He looks like he would be great with a real OLine.

McCoy has always intrigued me, but I'm not sure if I'd give up a pick for him.

If you can get Mettenberger for a 5th you do it. Don't waste your time with those other bums. Mettenberger can actually win games in this league and I pleaded for him when he was drafted.

I wanted him in the off-season. I think they will ask for too much right now. But, yeah, I would love to have him here.

There just isn't much out there at all. Probably best to hope we can keep Weeden upright until Tony gets back.

so at age 35 you expect him back

I say shut both Dez and Romo down for this year

Dez out for 10 - 12 weeks - Julio Jones had the same thing

Julio Jones - On October 9, 2013, it was announced that Jones would be out for the rest of the season after injuring his foot

DeMarcus Lawrence had a similar surgery that included a bone graft last year and was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list, costing him the first eight games of the season. Lawrence suffered the injury July 30, 2014, and played in his first game Nov. 2

Romo out for who knows how long could be 10 weeks - who knows

Whoever it might BE....... needs to be able to run as an option. Weeden is going to get killed as well

No Romo, no Dez? Let's just get Tebow and the play the read option. Afterall, anyone can run behind this OL, right???

Read option with someone like Tebow gives us better chance to win than Weeden, or any QB on the street/trade wire, in our regular offense, until Romo returns.

We goofed this offseason..

Should've signed Fitzpatrick when he was available.

Oh well..

.500 with Weeden is doable imo.

Even with all the running back talk, nothing made me wince quite like the fact I knew Weeden would remain our No. 2. I honestly sit here and have trouble envisioning how we can trot him out there for 60 minutes and win a game. Hopefully he shows something over the next few weeks to feel differently.

It was a blunder not getting a better backup, you are correct about that.

Weeden can come off the bench and finish off a game just fine, but give a team an entire week to prepare for him and you are done. If the reports are true that Romo is out possibly 8-10 weeks, we are done fellas.

We are not beating anybody that is any good with Weeden, so teams like Seattle and New England are automatic losses now. Hell, even playing the Saints down in the Bayou is probably a loss now. Maybe we beat Atlanta..............maybe.

this is what happens when you ignore certain positions, but again, considering all at our disposal i stand by my words that Garrett had a great off season. You cant fix every position. The change that we wuld all make now is Weeden. Considering that there are other positions i am screaming about, replacements werent there and our players are doing a good job so far. This one position is goign to hurt us.

Jameis just beat Brees.

Let's go 4-3 during Romo's injury and we are 6-3 and looking at the meaty part of our schedule.

Remember we only have to win the NFC Least
