He's done and he knows it. His coaching career just ended after today, no one will hire him now. Fully exposed
It may seem that way but actually that's highly unlikely. NFL coaches are always on a perpetual carousel. I'm not sure JJ will fire him or DQ. I'm not sure it will really make any difference because of the owner.

We saw what Harbaugh was able to do with Kap. Similar talent with Lance. I'm sure Jerry wants Belichick and his .400 winning percentage without Brady.
Name me a coach that has won 2 super bowls or more without a great QB?
Walsh had Montana, Reid Mahomes, Jimmy- Aikman
BB can flat out coach and he made playoffs with Mac Jones a rookie

He got outcoached badly today.

Seriously, why do some of you make such excuses for mediocre coaches. McCarthy isn't a new QB away from taking this team to another level.

He should be gone. Dak should be gone.
Like I said, I'm not sure MM would get us anywhere, but Dak would sink any replacement. You could get the best coach in history and it won't matter. You can't make a gourmet meal out of dog crap. It's not possible.

I'd be fine with getting rid of both of them. I'm just saying that of the two, one of them has proven capable of helping their team make it to and win a SB.

Gibbs. Forget superbowl. He's not a 500 coach without the best qB of all time.

I hope DQs butt whipping didn't hurt his chances of becoming a HC. MM is most likely done, except for maybe a coordinator somewhere.

I can’t go another year with MM, we should know soon.

Plenty of good candidates. MM was thoroughly outcoached despite superior talent. Once again the opposition knows our plays in the post season and we cannot adjust.

Get Harbaugh or any other hard-nosed coach. This team/organization is destined to fail as long as NON-FOOTBALL people make FOOTBALL decisions.

I think Dak needs to be gone but I have way more faith in a good coach being able to win with Dak than in thinking McCarthy can win if we give him another QB.

Neither the offense, defense or special teams were ready to play.
IN A PLAYOFF GAME AT HOME!
That's egregious!
When that happens, THAT'S ... ON ... THE ... COACH!

If Mike isn't here in August that would be more surprising than the egg we just laid at home against GB.

Yes, for unlawful carnal knowledge that guy and the horse he rode in on.

It's a poor time to be shopping for a new head coach, with an unusual number of vacancies this year.

Of course, a new HC means at least a partial rebuild - in terms of philosophy & day-to-day operations, at a minimum. Which would likely mean something on the order of 7-10, rather than 12-5 in year one.

If Mike McCarthy gets fired for today's performance (which I don't think will happen), he can thank Dan Quinn for it.
