I just dont know it what capacity Garrett could work in the front office.

Jerry is the GM, Will McClay is Personnel, maybe something with scouting? Isnt that kinda a major step down, to go from head coach to being a scout? Even head of scouting seems like a pretty significant demotion.

This whole thing just doesn't make sense, you dont see other teams being run like this. Cleveland and the Giants said "goodbye, I will call you an uber if you need one" and that's that. But no, Jerry has to act like his high school sweetheart is breaking up with him and he is begging for another chance. Just pathetic.
Yeah - but in Garrett's defense, he's been around this team for close to 13 years and is extremely close to some of these players and staffers. It could be Jerry's way of playing damage control with any millionaires on this team who could potentially be "disrespected" by his unceremonious firing.

Either way, it's still bizarre, and not a good way to conduct business. Name any other billionaire in the world who operates with his feelings.

Here's a crappy scenario for you.... Jerry moves Garrett to the F.O. and instructs him to hire a new HC. The one condition is that the new HC has to meet Jerry's specifications and won't be allowed to hire his own staff. The new HC will not have any authority and won't have to report to Garrett. The players will be allowed to bypass their HC and Garrett and still have a clear path to Jerry.

So basically what you're left with is the exact same situation as it exists today, the only difference being an additional link in the chain of command, but a link that still doesn't have any authority or say in anything. The Jerry circus continues on as it always has...........

Isn't that special?

Sounds like the staff is being wiped clean. Either JG stays because the players like him and he gets new staff or there all gone. Hearing that there was a Defense separation between Marinelli guys and Richard guys is never a good thing. One DC is needed. Cant wait to see a new Defense put in.

You’re speculating! The longer this takes the more chance of Jerry sticking with Garrett. I don’t like it. He deserved to be fired long ago. Give him the boot, now!!
There is more here than meets the eye.

Garrett and the Jones are very close personally.

This probably has something to do with why so long.

Jerrah is probably trying to create or find a position for Garrett on the executive level on the club.

This is 99 percent about Jerrah's ego. Sure he loves Garrett, but all this twisting is Jerrah having to publicly admit he made a 10 year mistake.
He hired a completely unqualified and inexperienced HC with the assurance he would learn on the job and be the next Landry. It never happened and he can't bring himself to throw in the towel on his pipe dream

It doesn’t make sense because he’s not being offered that job. Garrett is young and he has been clear that he wants to coach again. And he’ll get that opportunity, this year, probably in New York.

we can only hope the Giants would be that stupid!

Jason coached his last game with the Cowboys.

Jerry just didn’t want to shame him on Black Monday plus was giving him an opportunity to address the team on final meeting today after the season.
