I just dont know it what capacity Garrett could work in the front office.

Jerry is the GM, Will McClay is Personnel, maybe something with scouting? Isnt that kinda a major step down, to go from head coach to being a scout? Even head of scouting seems like a pretty significant demotion.

This whole thing just doesn't make sense, you dont see other teams being run like this. Cleveland and the Giants said "goodbye, I will call you an uber if you need one" and that's that. But no, Jerry has to act like his high school sweetheart is breaking up with him and he is begging for another chance. Just pathetic.

It doesn’t make sense because he’s not being offered that job. Garrett is young and he has been clear that he wants to coach again. And he’ll get that opportunity, this year, probably in New York.

Mildly, I’m more concerned about Garrett not being fired yet. Nothing else matters about this team until Garrett is gone!!

Some fans do not understand. We will not win a Superbowl with Garrett as our HC. That is 99.9999999999999999% fact!
They probably have to buy out his contract. He is under contract until the 14th, and neither side can move forward until then unless he is bought out or terminated.
I know fans want him fired. But that will be a very look for an organization that wants to attract talent. Any coach you actually coaching this team will be very hesitant to come to an organization that fires a coach two weeks before his contract ends. They will look kinder on the organization if the two parties can come to a mutual agreement.

With Garrett's contracting ending, our situation is not the same as other teams firing their staff

Jones can fire Garrett right now, and coaches will be lining up for the job. The way Dallas would fire Garrett has absolutely no effect on this. Further, a coach isn’t going into a job thinking he’s going to get fired two weeks before a contract he knows isn’t going to get extended ends.

Jerry looks absolutely pathetic as an owner right now.

It's 100% fact that the Cowboys haven't even reached an NFCCG under Gailey, Campo, Parcells, Wade, and Garrett, much less a SB.

Garrett isn't the problem. He's a symptom.

Stop thinking that the only problem is Jerry just has to hire another HC and all will be fine. The sooner you do that, the less this stuff will stress you out.

It took you this long for Jerry to scare you? Have you seen one of his “press conferences” in the last 5 years? I’m surprised the men in white coats haven’t descended on him yet.

Your whole last paragraph says it all....”you don’t see other teams being run like this....Jerry has to act like his high school sweetheart is breaking up with him....Just pathetic.”

That’s as good a summary of this situation as I’ve seen! Lol!

They can hire anyone they want for whatever they want because JGs contract is running out. There is no legal assumption of him presuming his HC duties beyond the 14th so Jerry is well within his rights to secure talent to assume that role when it does end on the 14th.
As far as ending his contract a few days early hurting the image of the organization, not at all. Not anymore than not re-signing JG so that is a non-issue.

Saying Jerry is the problem is pretty obvious and a bit oversimplified.

I think most would agree the 2007 and 2016 teams (maybe a few other years) we looked primed for deep runs only to disappoint on the field in the postseason.

I don’t see how that is on Jerry.
