The one move Jerry must make

It would be interesting to re-visit our posts for the last five years. We have all mostly posted the same narrative, just worded differently.
I'm afraid we are stuck in a perpetual ground hog day when it come to the Cowboys and the Jones family. I'm a Cowboy fan first, and that will never change. I just take the good memories these days and hope for the best. Jerry and little boy can't ruin that, at least.

At this point in the life of a multi billionaire everyone around them is looking for their share of the inheritance or a hand out. The absolute last thing anyone close to Jerry will do right now is be honest with him

I love both Payton and Parcelss, but no and no. I would go ballistic if they gave up two first round picks to get Payton. Are you serious? So you trade Micah for Payton? A coach? Schotty isn't the problem here. Is he Payton? No, but he isn't the problem with this team. And Parcells is going to do what with those picks? His player acquisition skills were never his strong suit and his rigid scheme requires specific types of players. He refused to ever change even the slightest thing for the skillset of his players. I don't think that would work today.
 
The one move Jerry must make if he wants a SB is the one he won't make. Get himself and his dopey son out of the football side of things. Anything else is like having a knife in your back and taking an aspirin for the pain instead of taking the knife out.

Exactly. And Jerry the GM's playoff record the past 30 seasons speaks for itself and accurately represents Jerry "the football guy" Jones's legacy.

I don't trust this staff (coaches, owner ,scouts) with the draft picks.
So I would trade the picks for Payton.
 
The first move that Jerry Jones needs to make is to stop talking. He talks way too much, often sounds silly and naive football wise and the butt of jokes everywhere. That is the start. Stop talking. Then perhaps he could grow and understand that he is not anywhere near the right person for the GM job.

Don't worry, Sean Peyton has too much self respect to turn in his man card and be Jerry's gopher boy figurehead coach. The only coach that will accept a HC job here in Dallas fall into two camps: 1) Coaches with no hc experience & 2) Coaches willing for Dallas to be their final hc job since 99% of Jerry's head coaches never get hired again as an NFL hc.

I get it and I'm not 100% confident we will turn those picks into Tyler Smith and not Tyler Guyton or Mazi which is why I'd use at least one on a player or to move up in next years draft. Back top Payton, so it's not his coaching but his drafting? Sometimes perception exceeds reality, look enough better than what we have done to warrant giving up two firsts? Here are his last 5 drafts. Compare to ours. I'm sure you meant both coaching and drafting and just worded your last post as if you just meant drafting by mistake, so not just pouncing on that just kind of making a point on the crap shoot of drafts. I love Payton as a HC, but Denver isn't giving him up and I'm not giving two firsts for him

Remember when Jerry was going to hire Dan Reeves as a consultant but said he had to punch a time card?
Jerry won't do anything like that. It's his play toy and he'll only do it his way. Fans be damned.

I agree and I think it’s the ultimate symbol of his defiance toward his own fans. It’s like we have a spoiled teenager as our GM. It’s so broken.

Very noble but it’s not happening. Jethro is only interested being owner if he’s the face of the franchise.

Remember he tried it with Jimmy and back to back championships wasn’t enough.

We will have to wait for Mother Nature or accident , etc
 
Unfortunately we must strategize with the buffoon in place. And try and overcome the greatest obstacle in the NFL.
