No, I'm still not over it.

I think the Cowboys will be regretting this 'non-move' for years to come.

Seahawks envision key role for Unger

The consensus among our Seahawks sources is that second-round OL Max Unger's talent is simply too good to not be a starter this season. That said, just where the versatile Unger figures in the starting mix — left guard, right guard or perhaps center, his primary position at Oregon — remains unclear heading into training camp. Up to now, he has spent most of his time at left guard, with incumbent Mike Wahle still on the mend from shoulder surgery, but he has also put in time at center. In any event, daily team observers believe Unger, who reminds them a lot of former Seahawks jack-of-all-trades OL Chris Gray, will be on the field a great deal. “They’re really high on Unger,” one source said. “He’s very sound technically and real scrappy. I like him more every time I talk to him. He is definitely not intimidated. You can tell that he just gets it. He played in a similar spread offense at Oregon, and (Seahawks O-line coach Mike) Solari loves linemen who can play multiple positions.”

We've been 'rueing' since 1996, why think things should change now?

I was positive we would select Unger and was surprised when we didn't.

It felt a lot like when we passed on Shawn Rogers and took Quincy Carter, then we had another chance at him and took Tony Dixon instead. :bang2:

Fortunately, I believe we got a lot better players than Carter & Dixon in this draft but passing on Unger was disappointing to me.

The Seahawks traded in front of the Cowboys to get Unger, there is nothing to regret.. Give them the credit for doing a great job of scouting the Cowboys.

Seriously? Because the team that drafted him likes him? Before his first training camp practice?

And this one for a guy who we didn't even pass on.

I though it was a mistake on draft day and I still do. Just my opinion.

I'll give the Seahawks credit for going after the guy they wanted, and I'll give the Cowboys blame for not doing it.

Thanks to 'non-moves' like this one, we'll have yet another year of praying that Corey Procter doesn't have to play.

First, we didn't pass on him, we didn't "miss" on him and he didn't "get away." He was gone long before our selection in the second round.

Secondly, even if we had of passed on him, we've had far bigger whiffs before.

Two spots is 'long gone'?

Hardly.

The Seahawks acted, the Cowboys didn't.

Exactly. We did not pass on Unger. Then again my only concerns are with the players we did pick up not the ones we didn't. We can do this same routine since the Cowboys came into existence of passing over players who ended up being great.

That is why I don't understand the thread. Where did the Cowboys mess up? Not trading higher to take him?

How did Unger get away if he was never a Cowboy and we were never in position to draft him?

Seems like someone is letting their love of a pet cat get in the way of logic.

He was there two spots above Dallas' pick.

How is that 'never in position to draft him'?

How did Seattle manage?

They were 'never in position to draft him' either.

The Cowboys managed to move up for Jenkins the year before (and deserve credit for doing so).

They guessed wrong this time and it cost them.

So everyone in the draft that is good ...... Dallas missed on them?

All of them got away ....... gotcha ....
