The Packers rushed for 74 yards in the 4th quarter?

We don’t have great DTs
We play our best LB at DE so he is wearing down and our MLB is trash
The team plays with poor discipline and gap control

It is pretty clear that DQ is not all that

Agree,...and watch the Baldy's breakdowns thread where he picks out just three of the plays that show why the Packers were running all roughshod over the Cowboys. Bad scheme. And i don't even think this is the crack-replace crap that DQ was talking about. Just bad scheme along with the bad play.

They did nothing in the off season to address the situation. Most importantly get Quinn an assistant who understands stopping the run game…because Quinn doesn’t.

the packers rushed for 74 yards in the 4th quarter.....how is that even possible. as usual we gave up our customery 30+ yard run. and we gave up a 39 TD pass on a 4th down. they had 123 total yards in teh 4th....

You have a 14pt lead in the 4th and Rodgers with the ball....Quinn got owned expected him to throw and gave up on the run (fearing Rodgers arm to kill our CB2).

We played a passive defense and got beat.

....two things we hear - why wasnt Diggs travelled and our CB's inability to aid in stopping the run game. If we did move Diggs across he'd be outside DLaw, which benefits in two ways:
1) at least makes Rodgers think again about throwing to Watson....we know Aaron gets in a groove with a WR.
2) It would of also helped the run defense.... GB are less likely to run in DLaw's direction which means Diggs isnt exposed AND for all his faults, Jospeh to more llikely to help seal the right side edge.

Parsons is too small to hold up at DE full time
Either play him as Rush LB or he will break down

The problem is both inside and outside runs. When you play DE at DT teams will run inside like GB just did. When your DEs are undisciplined and you play an extra safety in place of LB, teams will run outside like everyone is doing to us

DQ needs to wake up

I didn't see the Packers getting huge yards running up the middle. The one play where Jones started up the middle and bounced off the pack and ran around the left side for 25 yards was not the fault of the middle of the defense. They did their job. The pursuit did not cut off the cut back. This has been their problem with the run game. The pursuit is taking bad angles, over-pursuing, getting cut off and sticking to their blockers, and otherwise failing to guy a helmet on the ball carrier.

This defense is never going to be one that stuff the run for 1 or 2 yards every down. We will se some 4 and 5 yards carries up the middle because LVE plays deep and is slow to get up into the hole. All the LBs, including Parsons, get caught up in traffic too much. Now one is slashing through the blockers to get to the ball carrier.

Stopping the run is a team effort. Everyone has to do their jobs to prevent RBs from cutting back, jump cutting to a different gap, allowing the QB to escape the pocket and run for a 1st down, etc. To me this is why the Cowboys are not stopping the run. Against Green Bay, they were less aggressive and it hurt the pass rush.

The pieces for a 3-4 scheme are there, Parsons OLB, Clark ILB. Hankins NT etc

3-4 DEs are way different than anyone we have on the roster. Always liked the 3-4 but you gotta have a stud at nose and an ILB who can take on a block. We’re missing most of those pieces

sorry, our offense isn't clutch. our defense isn't clutch. out coaches aren't clutch. this team isn't clutch.

when you get an opponent, struggling, with injuries, then you put the dagger in and end them. but we played down to their level. this team is not capable of winning anything. its not an over reaction after a loss. been saying it in preseason.

for the Dak haters, Dak will be gone. and this trend of this team sucking will continue. its not going to change. this franchise is gaining value, the most valuable franchise in the WORLD and yet, we accomplish nothing.

tell me why Jerry/Stephen should change the way they run the team if I become more valuable every day?
They decided to go to the locker room and warm up with a quarter left in the game. It’s that simple!

They need to tighten up the run defense because giving up 175 yards/game rushing is a sure-ticket exit from the playoffs.
Yup. And yet, most cheered when we took Lamb, and now several are talking about taking a CB in the first round next draft.

But it isnt what's killing us (though less than optimal)....we conceded 3 passing TD's two of which were 39 and 58 yard throws.

If we go back to the 3rdQ we are 28-14 up with less than 18mins left and we can't/don't stick to running the ball and killing the clock.

Our run Defense is poor, but it's not the PRIMARY reason for failure, just as much blame on our CB2's, Secondary alignment (not moving Diggs), KM not running the ball, WR's/QB communication.
If you can't stop the run, it opens up all areas of the O for the other team. Run stopping comes first. If you can't take care of that, everything else you do on D is for nothing.

Because winning will make them even more valuable. Why is that so hard for people to comprehend. The Joneses aren't good at their jobs, but it's not for lack of trying. It's because they think they know how to run a football team. It's the Dunning Kruger Effect. With Jerry's ego, I'd bet a week's paycheck that he wants to win even more than we want it.
No one doubts Jethro wants to win more than anyone . But not enough to get out of his own way.

there was not a single run play I recall where our DTs pushed the OL back and stopped them for a loss. That is a utter failure of DTs

a run defense that gives up 3-5 yards when they know the run is coming is a bad run defense

we can slice and dice it anyway we want. Run defense starts with collapsing the pocket up the middle and we don’t do it

They acquired a nice piece in Hankins, and only played him 25% of the snaps. Wonder how many snaps he played in the 4th? Hmmm...

Extremely accurate.

I think it's weird that so many people don't understand the role of your DT's. It is NOT just to hold the spot like a traffic cone.

Green Bay played smart. All the success, and often domination, the Cowboys defense has shown this season was based on penetrating and going after the QB. The Packers didn't give the Cowboys the chance to play that kind of game. They focused on the run, and limited how much they threw, picking and choosing the right opportunities. With the Cowboys so focused on attacking Rogers it left a lot of running room once the RB's got past the line of scrimmage. We've seen this weakness in the Cowboy defense before, but it was magnified in this game.
