Is this Jerry "I've never seen distractions make a difference on the field" Jones?

How can people think this wasn't a distraction?

I don't understand why people don't get that these aren't robots. When these players have to deal with a billion questions about a jerk like Pacman, of course it affects them.

Some people seem to think that this really is Madden and ability is all that matters.

There is a bigger media circus at the Super Bowl... No Pac-man fiasco is bigger than the Super Bowl media circle, so any claims that this 'fiasco' disturbed their focus is hog-wash. Further, when you step out onto the football field and 50,000 people are screaming and chanting your name, I'm quite sure you forget about what the media says and think all about football..

These are nothing but excuses... No media is allowed on the practice field... You can focus as much as you want when your on the practice field..

I keep hearing you say this. I didn't see that, at all. I wonder what Fitzgerald would say about that?

The Ticket reported of the 16 passes defended by the Cowboys D, Pacman had 11.

If anyone thinks Henry + 2 rookies will get the job done over the long haul...good luck!

Am I alone in thinking that the Pacman fiasco has contributed to the team losing two games that they should have won? I know that it is not the only problem out there, because the Bengals were in a game that should not have been close, but still, the past two games showed a team that ws not even prepared to play.

Am I alone in thinking that Pacman has ruined this team? Aside from leaving them in the lurch with his suspension, the distractions must have been huge.

Between his drama and whether TO is gonna blow up because he didn;t get as many carries as Marion Barber, is it possible that this team is just fed up with prima donnas?

You are alone... Pacman is not the reason this D blows...

Fotzegral was pretty much held in check the whole game... The TD he had on Pac-man, Pac-man was looking towards establishing the positioning of his safety. That was a hard pass to defend and a great throw, but if Pac-man wasn't caught looking at the inside safety, just like Newman was in prior weeks, he could have defended that...

FItzegerald didn't nut on Pac-man... Anthony Henry got burned by Avery, a freakin rookie... Jenkins got smoked once and almost got smoked twice if the QB could make the throw...

Pac-man has been pretty much manning up on the best receiver a team puts out there. Chad Johnson was pretty much rendered useless by Pac-man until they finally got good positioning. The guy mans up and dominates..

Please man... Pac-man hasn't played CB in one year and he is playing like this.. and you guys are complaining...

BTW, pay attention to what Nash posted:

I think it was mentioned on the ticket...

Total pass defensed by our defense.....16..

Pacman had 11

Pacman wasnt the problem.....

I believe other teams like the Pats and Saints were interested at one point.

They must have not been too interested, considering the Titans basically dumped him on us for nothing.

I don't totally buy that the off the field distractions and media circus didn't effect us in the 90's. We were just good enough long enough to over come it for a little while. Jimmy kept a tight thumb on it when we were still a young team during the first two Superbowls. It wasn't until the Switzer years that things got out of hand. We probably should have beaten the Steelers by 3 TDs in the Superbowl. I definitely think Irvin and Erik Williams' distractions effected us against the week of the Panthers Game in the NFC Championship 1996, Irvin has even come out and admitted it. And then in 1997 flushed right down into the gutter. That team had no business ending up at 6-10. When we were no longer heads and shoulders the most talented team on the field every week, we nosedived.

And you know who used to be the first one who said it effected the team ? Jerry. I can't tell you the number of times Jerry used to say "I get it now" when it comes to off the field problems and bad locker room players when he was trying to clean up the Cowboys image.

And less not forget the GB game-when we had Newman, Pacman, AND Henry, Wade was able to dial up more exotic blitz packages. Didn't Henry have like a sack or 2 on corner blitzes? That was probably the ONLY game this year Newman had decent health.

OTOH-compare it to other games where Newman was hobbling and/or Pacman didn't play.

Funny how everyone's been knocking on Wade for playing "bend but don't break", but now it's becoming obvious.

Irvin's injury in that game was a significant blow, IMHO-it was still early in the game, but we were having our way with this team. Once he went down, Aikman just looked clueless out there as our young receivers had trouble running the proper routes.

Cut Pacman. He is not that good. Downside too great for possible gains.

We need to cut some of the "loser" vets we have to help reshape our team and leverage talent.

Cut Adams, Ellis, Henry, Williams (ss), and Pacman today!!!! These losers are a big part of the problem.

It sure couldn't have helped.

Yep. We can't know for sure if this was the cause that the cowboys have been struggling but it obviously hasn't had a positive affect.

Jerry is not stupid enough to cut Pacman. They could be leaving him alone waiting for him to get thru rehab but I doubt it. They will take him back if he meets the conditions put before him.

I believe in consequences but I don't believe in taking away a man's life unless it's the only alternative. If he can do what is being asked of him and stay sober and clean then we should take him back.

That's why you take him back. The fact that he can play is just another reason to do it.

There's a reason why we're the only team in the NFL that will touch him with a 20 foot pole. The other 30 NFL general managers aren't dummies.

Jimmy Johnson said it best after the game ... this looked like a team that was totally distracted by a media circus all week.

Does it make you feel better looking down at people? i am sure you think your some wonderful thing but all it shows me is a complete lack of class.

Dude's got a drinking problem and needs help we get it that you don't like him but really your whole holier then thou thing got old a long time ago.

A drinking problem? Dude is antisocial!

Blaming Pacman's drinking for his problems is like blaming OJ's issues on Case knives.

IR has been nothing but class oon this site and any claim otherwise is way off base.

I don't blame Pacman's play for what has happened to this team, I blame his attitude. His team depended on him and he let them down. It isn't like this is his first time either. I can surely understand why guys like Ellis and Thomas would wonder what the heck is going on with Pacman still not cut from the team.

Ill sa what I think. IR is nice enough to record things he hears on the radio but for the most is doing this holier than thou nonsense. thats not class.

Antisocial. Quit diagnosing that which you know nothing of. All reports are that hes great in the lockerroom and he likes to go out. If anything hes gregarious.

Now look at his rap sheet and look what they all have in common? Wow, they were all in bars. Its not tough to figure out.

Hes an angry drunk and needs to stop drinking.

As for Thomas and Ellis quit making crap up. Who cares what Ellis is whining about anyway? If anyones attitude is a problem its the defensive leaders one of which is Ellis. They are not good leaders whatsoever.

Bradie James is more of detriment than anything to do with Pacman. He has the leadership qualities of an aardvark.

Remember after the Giants playoff game, he started whining b/c he felt threatened about his own job security, for some odd reason. Just sounded weird.

Of course, Pacman wasn't even on the team then.

Having spent my career dealing with antisocial types, I feel more than qualified to voice an opinion. Heck, my opinion has even been accepted in a court of law. Has your's?

Violence is the common theme. Don't care the cause, the dude is just violent. Won't be long before he is in prison. He will find it hard to drink in there, even harder to find people to be violent towards. His feet ain't that big.

Wasn't making anything up. If I was a veteran player I would be pissed that a guy that was supposed to be an important part of our team couldn't keep his butt out of trouble. Are you saying they shouldn't be pissed?
