Lets face it we arent generating any pass rush from the outside. Why dont we blitz Carter and McClain ALOT more through the middle, I just dont see them getting any better at the edge rush this season. They gotta do something to get the QBs looking at the pass rush and not down field

Blitzing is not part of our scheme. Yes we will sprinkle it in, but it is not a major part of our scheme.

Just have to live with it, and hope we get there with 4.

Our pass rush concepts are screwed up because of the personnel.

We cannot stunt both tackles because we play Hayden so much. Both ends are basically run down ends that would be fortunate to be depth on a real DL.

We made this bed, but all offseason it was always dismissed.

The pass rush won't have a chance to be improved until the offseason.

For what it's worth the Cowboys' pass rush isn't any worse than that of Seattle, San Diego and Cincinnati.

Matthews at MLB seems to be in the backfield every play. We might as well send Carter after the QB every down and not waste him attempting to cover anyone.

That is the problem looking at statistics in a vacuum.

The other teams compensate with the remaining back seven taking up the slack.

But hey, they don't have more "hurries" as Dallas has.

Let's draft a CB to celebrate, Michael.

This pass rush you speak of is about 8 guys short of ever happening. We have role players that would be great in rotation with 2 or 3 starters, but none of them are true #1s. Look most of drank the kook-aid and now we have to rinse our mouths out and get on with reality. You have to get four..yes four tackles that can get a push up the middle. You don't waste time on DEs right away. That is a fools errand. I say this because when you get good tackles that require double teams it leaves any DE one on one and most times you will get good activity from the front four. Sadly, if we had a young Ware or if there was some other DE that was on the trade block for a 2nd and a 5th and was known also wear #94, we would have a start. Though you might as well wish for a unicorn.

Okay back on point. If you send LBs up the middle, you better get there. QBs in this league will see that coming a mile off and our secondary is a joke or at least the scheme is. So what do you do? Send three, drop zones, and have eight in coverage? Perhaps a 4-2-5? 3-3-5 and always send an odd assortment of 4 or 5 guys to the QB? My problem with what we do is that it's so predictable. I often can predict what the offense will do and it happens and that scares me. I shouldn't be able to see it coming. But if I do, what do you think DCs and other NFLers are seeing on the field? We need new ideas and schemes. I heard someone talk about the Patriots (no I don't think they are perfect at all) and how each week they look different on offense and defense. They throw new wrinkles each week at the teams. They see the weakness of the opponent and they attempt to exploit it. They allow a team to try to use their strengths by baiting them into plays and often win. Look they lost today, but the odd thing is you could look at the game and think "they are not that much more talented than the Cowboys, but they have better schemes and sadly better coaching." JMO.

Of course. They have better secondary's.

Nothing a few nickname changes can't fix. Quit being so dramatic.
