This is why I dont get the love for Marineli? Sure he doesn't have much to work with but not much happens either.

Matthews at MLB seems to be in the backfield every play. We might as well send Carter after the QB every down and not waste him attempting to cover anyone.

I like this idea. BTW, we do seem to be blitzing more....still could be more.

Our pass rush concepts are screwed up because of the personnel.

We cannot stunt both tackles because we play Hayden so much. Both ends are basically run down ends that would be fortunate to be depth on a real DL.

We made this bed, but all offseason it was always dismissed.

That's an accurate statement on the face of it but you have to be able to go get better players from somewhere and then pay them within the cap.

So where and how were we supposed to fulfill the above criteria?

How are passrushers supposed to get there in 1 second?

Everything Eli and Sanchez did was done by getting the ball out quickly. If this team could cover anybody, ever, the passrush would look a lot better.

Good point. When you play zone and 8-10 yards off that first read will always be open and it doesn't give the Dline any time to even generate a rush. Then they want to do stunts like they have that kind of time in zone. Press receivers and give the Dline a chance.

Coverage sacks, blitzes, 4 man rushes... Its all related, we're not getting there. This team has a putrid 18 sacks on the year, and it ain't bc all qbs get that ball out in a second

This pass rush you speak of is about 8 guys short of ever happening. We have role players that would be great in rotation with 2 or 3 starters, but none of them are true #1s. Look most of drank the kook-aid and now we have to rinse our mouths out and get on with reality. You have to get four..yes four tackles that can get a push up the middle. You don't waste time on DEs right away. That is a fools errand. I say this because when you get good tackles that require double teams it leaves any DE one on one and most times you will get good activity from the front four. Sadly, if we had a young Ware or if there was some other DE that was on the trade block for a 2nd and a 5th and was known also wear #94, we would have a start. Though you might as well wish for a unicorn.

I think one tackle in the likeness of Johnathan Hankins from NY would do wonders for this defense. He does not generate a great pass rush but he pusses the pocket enough to force the QB backwards allowing the DEs to get a good rush.

I also think Dallas needs a blue-chip DE, 1st-round DE this April.

We've been able to disrupt the passing game this year. Not as well against the Eagles but for the most part we have been getting in the QBs face. Watching the Patriots and Packers yesterday it was obvious that the Packers were getting to Brady but when you look up the game stats they only had one sack.

Josh Brent might be that guy. They are physically similar players.

I hope so but I don't know how much he can help this year. Lawrence and Brent are going to have to show something if Dallas expects to improve the pass rush these last four games.

Yes, I'm not counting on him this year. I would like to see him play to get an idea if he has anything for next year, but I don't expect many snaps from him even if he does play.

I think the front office needs to just not re-sign Hayden next year because it appears that Marinelli will play him too much if he's on the roster.

Dead. nuts. On.

I watch other defenses......defend the pass. It's amazing!!

With Dallas, it's pitch and catch. Literally.

Because Sanchez is Sanchez......they only dropped 30.
