It doesn't matter how you disrespect the Cowboys, if you have talent, come play for us.

Owens is a great talent, and has matured considerably. He has become a good teammate. Owens should have never been welcomed to the Cowboys. If he never would have worn the star, this team would have been better off in terms of dignity.

However, something of the Dallas Cowboys legend and self-respect was lost that day, and the Cowboys will never get that back.

Did we lose self respect, when Mich was cote snorting coke with hookers in his lap?

did we lose self respect when Newton was caught carrying around car loads of drugs?

did we lose self respect when we traded for a 49er who was a "hello" from slamming your head through a wall?

You whine about T.O because he "disrespected" the star, as a member of a another team but yet you never once had a problem with those who disrespected the star as a member of our team?

This is why you were routinely blasted.

None of those individuals disrespected the "start", as you so eloquently put it, they had off the field issues in which they had no personal self respect at the time. Michael has come a long way, I'm glad to see it.

Owens had one very dramatic, very public, intentional disrespect for the Cowboys star.

But your ilk is too quick to cheer for things the way they are... with the ever popular retort. "Get over it"

It's over. The Cowboys lost something. They'll never get it back. And those who blasted were consistently wrong.

Why? From whom? You?

If that's the case, I doubt they care. Your posts are an embarrassment to this forum.

once you put on that helmet, whether on the field, or off, what you do in those 2 areas directly reflects on the Cowboy's organization

those shenanigans disrespected the Star, just as TO did by spiking the ball on the mid-field logo twice, but he's made amends, just like our problem players from the past did

So when Pacman gets in trouble off the field, he's disrespecting the NFL, and giving it a black eye

But when Mich is snorting more coke than local crack heads he just had off the field issues

The more you defend yourself, the more you make yourself look like a monkey.

Admit that you took things to far, and life will be so much easier.

I see where you want to go with this... but it doesnt work.

Besides.... TO explained, in detail, about the "star" incident.

He said "I just wanted to beat you guys".... he wanted to beat AMERICA's TEAM.... and he wanted to rub it in.... we stunk then... his 49ers kinda stunk too and he wanted to jump start his team by hitting the once big bad cowboys in the mouth.

I dunno... it didnt bother me too much back then.... Jerry even said(before we got TO) "he can sleep on the star if we get him" in response to the MAJOR disrespect of the Star

Yes, Jerry did sell out. But then again, he never really understood what the Cowboys and Tom Landry were all about, from day one.

I was more upset by Brandon Jacobs intentionally trying to break the play clock after that TD in the playoffs than I was about Owens standing on the star. There were handicapped children in the vicinity. Had the ball gone just a tad high, one of them would have been badly hurt. He even admitted that he tried to break it. That is worthy of suspension in my book.

It amazes me how some have double standards....

Once again.....Jerry is the devil......

some still cant get over that Jerry let Landry go for Jimmy Johnson.....

Jerry knows what it is to be a Dallas Cowboy......its not even debatable....no one can deny his love for this team and its players....one of the best owners ever in football IMHO

Guaranteed you were not a fan of the Cowboys in the 1970's. Some can't get over it. That's right, because you don't know what was disrespected.

Jerry will always trash the history of the Cowboys to build the future. That is motivated by the bottom line alone, and it is despicable.

Honestly, I could care less about what other people think of the Cowboys. All I care about is winning super bowls. Some here would actually rather lose with "dignity" than to win.

There is SOMETHING important in HOW you win, not just that you win.

That is very true, but you are focusing on the wrong aspect. I do not condone cheating (like the Patriots) or playing dirty, ie intentionally injuring players, or paying off refs, etc. The Cowboys have been a clean team on the field, so our dignity and respect that you are so concerned about is still in tact. And it will continue to be that way even with Owens, Tank, and Pacman on the team.

What? Im probally old enought to be your father......your Guarantee? nice assumption.....just like your assumption Jerry is trashing the history of the Dallas Cowboys....your batting well here....

Let it go brother.......Jerry isnt the devil

Owens spiking the Ball wasnt anymore disrespectfull then Hogs doing their dance in our endzone......or Phil Simms pumping his fist after a score...

If you dont want players to celebrate........keep them out of the endzone.

You beef is how Jerry let go of Landry......let it go.....it wasnt disrespect....he wanted his own coach....and it proved to be the right move....IMHO

I love Landry and Tex.......and Jerry is just adding to the shine of the Star......best owner in football.

Hey, that is why we all respect you so much because you will admit when a mistake is made.

I was all for T.O. because I felt he would be our best playmaker by far and open up the offense for his team mates.
I don't mind being wrong.

This is exactly how I felt when I heard that Santa's reindeer lost their MAGIC PIXIE DUST to the WINTER WARLOCK and could no longer FLY.

A part of me died that day, too, along with the legend of the flying deer.
