Wow ...... Bear, Ashwynn, nathanlt, and Cactuscowboy really took his signing hard.

Wonder what they would say today.

I remember justifying his hiring as a Hired Gun ..... a mercenary if you will ..... boy he sure has went beyond that.

barring anything else ...... I will always think of him as a Cowboy.

I think I said my peace. If not here it is again.

He proved his first year he could be a team player. Thats all I wanted. I am fine with him now. He will never be a True Cowboy, ala Staubach, Aikman, Emmitt and Michael, always a hired gun. But I will take what he gives the boys. Hopefully it will lead to a championship.

But I still have not bought anything cowboys related, gone to a game or given Jones 1 cent of my money since Jones signed owens (see I will even type his name now. No longer el dorado).

I love Landry and Tex.......and Jerry is just adding to the shine of the Star......best owner in football.

Just for the record, I did not dislike Owens cause of the star thing. Thats just on the field stuff. I hated his self absorbed, self center, egoisical, meglomaniac self. He was not a good human being. Wether hes changed or not, I dont really know. But I know hes been able to keep his ego in check since he joined. Hes been a good camper since hes been here. I will take that and move forward. Again, thats all I wanted in the first place.

I always felt it was personal. You guys didn't like him, so you didn't want him.

I didn't especially like Owens. But I knew Owens in Dallas would work for precisely the reason it has worked. Jerry Jones. Jones was/is exactly what Owens always needed and never had. BS, You did not know it would work. You hoped like hell it would work. Even you have to admit their was that chance. Why else would it be controversial. Why would no other team even look at him, cause they were scared he would destroy them, much like he did SF and Philly.

If you did not believe my reasons for not liking the dude, your a fool. I put the same reason for not liking him on paper that day, same as I did yesterday. He was a bad human being not worthy of the air he breathed. Thats never changed till recently. Only after he proved he could grow up and keep his temper in check.

Granted I hated cow-towing to the dude. I thought that was the wrong thing to do. Still do today. You never pump up an egomanical dudes ego unless your ready to deal with that monster ego. Luckily for us, Owens took the money and was happy and we did not have to see that ego at all. But there were a few incidences that looked like we were going down that road, and each of you guys that slob on him were scared then, wether you admit it or not.

In the end, it all worked out. So alls well that ends well.

Not I. I assure. I wanted TO the year he went to Philly. I have considered this guy a force since the day he took over for Rice in San Fran. We are the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team, no one player has ever been larger than the star, and I never thought we had one thing to worry about with the acquisition of Owens. Still don't.
