Dallas should have evaluated everything they had a RT last year instead of putting Colombo out there.
The results would not have been any worse as far as play at RT.
If there's one thing a crappy season gives you the chance to do, it's evaluate.
Lost opportunity, really.
Right on the money here, couldn't agree with you more.
Activate and play everyone but Colombo and see what you have. See what you have or don't have in Young or Brewster or even Barron and go with the knowledge of what you need and don't need in 2011.
The Eagles had no issues putting their #2 quarterback (who may fetch them a nice value in trade) out there behind backups needing to be evaluated.
Seems people want it both ways - they want McGee replaced, but are still worried about him 'getting killed' or losing a meaningless game in the process.
We got zero out of that 'gutsy, come-from-behind win' than a lower draft pick.
As for the actual topic, I think#6 is the key spot. Cleveland is once again completely rebuilding and needs more quantity of picks and will likely be open to trading down.
If Peterson is there, they can auction the pick between us and San Francisco (I think Houston needs to keep their picks for the move to the 3-4 defense).
If we're willing to give up more, say our 1st, 3rd and 6th rounders, we have a good chance to get him.
