I have watched their games and they have flaws like all teams, they just seem to make less mistakes and have a dominant pass catcher in Gronk and a delivery system in Brady that is very consistent. We on the other hand...we are waiting on ours to get out of the shop. We will still bring the pressure to them up the middle and hopefully hold on to our interceptions and fumbles.

their defense is average or even below average this season, too bad we cant expose that without Romo and Dez

The article is about right. On the field, the patriots are what the Cowboys used to be, though after roughly 15 straight years of success and the Cowboys near 20 years of mediocrity, they still have some catching up to do.

But the Patriots will never be the icon the Cowboys are and were.

Pats are also beneficiaries of two events. Tuck Rule - if not called that way no SB.... Seattle call - interception to W a game that appeared to be lost. Also on the other side of ledger.... Helmet catch to deny them SB win.....

It is not rocket science

It is called

Discipline
Accountability
Execution
Focus
Know your assignments

Their HC and QB don't accept anything less

If you don't, you won't play
No coddling

Our HC can learn a LOT from them

Bravo.. excellent post. Their culture the last several years has been a culture of winning. Our culture on the other hand the past 20 years has been a culture of losing & confusion and that can be attributed directly to Jerry Jones. If it wasn't for him we could have real coaches who know what they are doing.

Teams with a winning culture always seem to get the calls don't they? That play from Malcom Butler was a heads up play.. he was expecting that pas because he was taught to look for it. Our coaches don't know how to teach players to look for that.

Did Bellichick also "hit the lottery" the year Brady got hurt and NE he won 11 games with a QB that had never played in the NFL before ?

BB cuts corners and cheats but in terms of the NFL he is playing chess and Garrett is still learning checkers
They're not in the same league

No doubt that year with Cassel was impressive, still no denying he does not fill his trophy case with Cassel behind the steering wheel. I think the way they handle the draft is next tier along with aging veterans. There picks however are difficult to decipher as they have had many highly needed pieces fall in their laps in the late rounds where they should of been struggling to find talent. I am not a Garrett basher or advocate and agree his time management skills are freshman like compared to other coaches.

I think you are missing the point

Talent does not fall in their lap

They seek out tough minded, smart and players who love football and then DEMAND descipline and focus from them

They don't accept failure and don't make excuses

Bellichick takes the talent he has and modifies his scheme and game plan based on the strengths and weaknesses of his players and his opponents

They hardly had a winning culture before that tuck rule game. That was and still is a bogus call.

That is media speak all teams want tough minded smart players, name a team who would not covet that trait, he has a scheme that is easy for the talent to translate and without a doubt he is consistent with his belief in that scheme.
Oh Chandler Jones and this year's pick from Texas were certainly not expected...
He has a good system and the way they got Brady to take that contract to take less for being the QB was superb.
I agree with you on most, will disagree with you on the talent falling their way. The draft has fallen their way several times in the last decade especially since they have drafted so late. Now their later round picks are head scratchers which involves frequently cutting players who do not carry the company line draft choice or not.

It's all true with Belichick as HC and Brady as QB the Patriots are 163-47 in the regular season and 21-8 in the playoffs and 4-2 in Super Bowls.

Tom Brady has played in 13 NFL seasons and in 9 of them the Patriots have gone to the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl in 6 of those, almost half of his seasons he's been to the Super Bowl and 3/4 of the time to the AFCCG.

Dude - trust me - you don't want to cherry pick certain years of success with us. Win another one and you can sit at the big boy table with us, Niners and Stealers.
