The Patriots will end up with McFadden, not the Cowboys

I just don't see it happen. The 49ers have gone from the chic pick to get to the playoffs (which I never bought) to looking like one of the worst teams in the league. It is entirely possible the Pats end up with a top 5 pick, and almost certain they will have a top 10. Worse yet, they don't have any needs, so they will draft the best player available and if Mcfadden is there, they WILL draft him.

If Jerry has any aspirations for seeing DMAC with a star on his helmet, he's going to have to move heaven and earth to make it happen, and that may mean leaving us with a draft similar to the Commanders last year, one high pick and nothing else till the late rounds.

This would mean no quality CB and no quality WR in the draft, which we may actually need more than a RB.

They'll trade down.

Exactly! Moving up to get him is not something you will see the Pats do. They will trade down and add picks and then later those picks will turn out pretty darn good.

#1. I don't think they draft DMac with a VERY good RB on their roster already.

#2. Jerry lost his mind with Galloway, it hasn't happened again and it won't happen with DMac. To get from the Cleveland pick(probably in the 20's) up to DMac you'd have to give day 1 in 08 and most of day 1 in 09. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

I think we have 3 areas we need to address day 1 with our 4 picks. Round 1 i want a CB most of all. After that i don't care if we go RB or WR but if we keep both #1's i'm of the opinion we need to get 1 impact offensive skill player. This should be a pretty good draft at RB and WR in round 2 so i can see us going for our second O pick in round 2. But again, i think CB is a must have in round 1.

I still say he should have taken away all their picks.... but I always call for stricter punishments.

When it's all said and done, he works for these owners. I'd be willing to bet if they Pats didn't have 2 #1's he would have just fined them and not taken their only #1. Probably taken a #2. He's not out to get the owners.

Well it would add a pretty big chuck to their payroll, that being a unproven rookie, who we all could hope to fail misserably. :D

The Patriots have next to no chance in getting McFadden. They won't even have a first round draft choice in April because of the videogate fine. The following teams won't take him: Rams, 49ers, Buffalo. Miami might but I doubt it with Brown and Chatman and so many more holes. That leaves Oakland as a big contender but I think Dallas could leap frog them with a package of picks to Miami.

At first, I was sick at the thought of the Pats getting such a high pick. Now, my hope is that they get the #1 overall, the player busts, and they're stuck with a huge cap hit on a player that doesn't do much. :)

Cause he's always hurt.

And they'll take him for the same reason they've been running the score up on teams, because they can. It'll just be part of their 2007-2008 Up Yours Tour they've been on.

For some reason i see them takin mainly defensive players in the draft.. there Defense is getting pretty Old now , even though they are still good.
