You gonna stop watching? :laugh2:

I've done it before! When the Cowboys look like the Keystone Kops, especially against a divisional foes. It can be very hard to watch and sometimes and I will walk away from it. Not necessarily to protect me, but protect my children from hearing me cuss like a sailor! :laugh2:

While some have mentioned the "everything in moderation" point, this is also something that she drilled repeatedly on her shows.

You have to use that bowling ball attached to your neck and realize that eating that way constantly won't be good for you. It's not like eating a healthy diet is never talked about or that information is somehow unavailable.

People need to take personal responsibility for their choices.

I tough it out. I have never walked away or left a game early no matter the score. It could be the wrost beat down we ever had and I promise you I have not turned it off or left the game.

and driving a car can lead to death. There are a lot of things that can lead to death. Eating this type of food is not going to kill you, now if you eat this kind of food every day then yes it can be bad for you. The key in life is moderation

Actually, if a non-compliant diabetic ate this type of food everyday, then yes, it would kill you. I changed my entire eating habit in March 2011 when I was diagnosed. I became educated on what diabetes is, how it affects you and how to manage it without having to be on insulin, which I've thankfully avoided.

I think Dean missed a golden opportunity to capture a new audience by changing the show from a fat and lard based menu to one that teaches people how to eat responsibly and why they should do so.

We did some research about 7 months ago for our 3-county area in Texas, and 47% of the population was either overweight or obese. That, and heredity, are leading causes for people to get Type II diabetes.

Don't get me wrong about this. I enjoy eating. I've just learned how to do it responsibly and in a manner that will allow me to stick around a while longer.

I hope you can keep it under control. As for Dean she has an audience that likes what she is prepairing there are a lot of these cooks and cooking shows that deal in so called healthy foods why add yet another?

I have nothing aginst what people choose to eat be it for health reasons such as your or just a life change that some people want. That is cool but there are people who want to learn to cook other things they like having and Dean shows them.

Because there is a multi-page thread on Paula Dean? :laugh1:

Because you've eaten copious amounts of highly fattening, cholesterol raising foods at the behest of a complete and total stranger who came out and admitted she has a disease that's attributed to eating copious amounts of highly fattening, cholesterol raising foods.

Because we didn't start out with a stick of butter, y'all!

I love the health nuts claiming victory over this. She spends nearly 70 years of her life eating whatever the hell she wants, living it up, and she somehow was the one that did it wrong?

a stick of butter... wraped in bacon... stuffed into a loaf of bread... deep fried in Crisco... covered with cheese sauce... topped with Krispy Kreme donuts... served with sweet tea.

Not just our users there are many who like to take their life plans and put them on others. This is how you should live.

She has every right to keep quiet about her medical condition. It's her privacy at issue here. Further, Diabetes is also hereditary as well.

People who are upset with her over this needs to seek some deeper meaning to their own lives.
