The play-it-safe Marinelli schemes must go

Have we ever defended a pass 5-7 yards in the middle of the field?

Our LBs are so deep in zone it's a play that's wide open all game long.

Essentially allowed the Chiefs 10 points. Marinelli sucks.

He does.

The problem is we have a game like this every once in awhile and people think it's what is typical from Marinelli forgetting all the times his defense has been lit up like five Christmas trees.

I'll be impressed if this D shuts down Altanta and Philly.

yes but it should have been at least 39-10
But, but, but, that's so lame and pathetic. No game is perfect. Man up, quit trolling and give the Cowboys team a little congratulations for a nice game.

Judging by your troll posts, you're not really worth impressing tbh.

Thread fail.
Don't agree. rod has gotten more aggresive as of late, the play it safe schemes are starting to be phased out with the addition of Irving and Hitchens, not to mention Lee. Staying healthy will be huge for the defense going forward.

I'm not a Maranelli fan I won't lie. But since he's had Hitchens and Lee his unit has been performing well. Initially I accredited it to us playing the Deadskins and 49ers. Its bigger than that now. That Chiefs offense is a pretty good one. I had no clue how we were going to stop Kelce . Nobody has to this point.

no game is perfect.
but they just did the worst prevent defense i have ever seen.
as it was happening, i was going - ah, not good - and i think many were doing the same.
if it was not the cowboys, it would be comical.
i literally could not believe my eyes.
i want to see a championship, and this DC is in the way of that.

I'm not a big Rod fan either, but to his credit, he's never had a lot of talent to work with. If our young DBs pan out, we could be very good one day.

He's old school and has trouble with these new fangled offensive schemes. The nextbtwomweeks will be very interesting. I'm pulling for him.

he is a dinosaur.
he needs to be taken out to the back and put out of his misery.
i want to see a championship, not some stupid nfc east or some 1 and out.
either be a contender or just get a better draft pick.
last thing we need is to get close and have him get in the way of winning.

No he hasn't had the talent but I think at times he uses that as a OUT. He won't vocally say anything but he's constantly here with no premiere picks on defense. So that leads me to believe he's ok with the talent he has.

I love what this defense can become. It would be nice to add a premiere pick to that defense. Just one more. Not opposed to trading up for a player next year even though its probably a bad idea.

i dont know.
when i say the formation, i was feeling like uh-oh.
and i think many felt that way.
I have to admit I had a bad feeling when I saw it too. I was thinking to myself, they aren't going to throw a hail Mary now with all those guys back there, they're gonna take what we give them and throw underneath and let the ball carrier make a play. Unfortunately for us, they just executed better than we did.

I think what you're looking for is Madden, or maybe the 'ole Tudor electric football games. You'd be amazed at how you can personally change the outcomes of make believe football games.

right, especially after we did the same thing a week or 2 ago doing a dump off and passing the ball around.

And that's by design
Our DC is more than happy to let those plays happen all game... as long as we prevent quick scores, I think it gives us the advantage considering our high powered offense.

Cowboys won. Even more impressive was the wherewithal and mental toughness to shake it off and play lights out. We essentially held one of the leagues best offenses to 10 points less a fluke albeit well designed.

That's Dak. I think overall he had an ok game but not one of his best. But he gets what the team needs. He is incredibly mentally tough.
The kid is a lion on the football field.

He needs a lot of polish still- but he is a fierce competitor and his teammates believe in him.

dak seemed to played a lot better after he rolled out more and did some run option in addition to pocket passing.

I remember seeing the alignment and was like well ... "this is peculiar, surely they have a plan or a reason. There's like less than 1% chance of success on this play before half- stop worrying."

Then Hill caught the pass and my jaw dropped and dropped and I was like someone engage the ballcarrier please.

Good thing we are better than KC by wide enough margin to not have it really come back and bite us.
