The Problem I've Been Noticing

That was deflected. If you didn't see it the first time, Phil Simms pointing it out and the replay near the half might have convinced you of it.

But even tho the deflect surprised him, with the zip it still had, it ended up bouncing off him so he should have had it. Any ball that come that close should be a reception. But I wonder if it that pass will even make it as a 'drop' at the stats sites..so far this year (pre-Broncs game) Terry has exactly TWO drops. Yet game after game I read here of his many drops. ;)

It was NOT tho, a case of 'alligator arms', ie, gutlessness over the middle a la Pinkston.

That was unfair. I don't need to remind anyone in 03 it was Terry Glenn who played our possession receiver role, and reasonably well, considering his size. Pound for pound he has as much sand as anyone in this league. Anyone who says otherwise is taking a beatdown from me today. A big one, Mikey. :D

One last note on that first drive, those two "drops" made me cringe...for once Bill come out shooting and gets evidence he should go back to run, run, pass.

LTN, i know T. Glenn is your guy - but, on the opening pass play, that ball hit terry in stride. and i didn't notice a marked wobble to it, either. if it was tipped then somebody barely got a fingernail on it. also, Glenn appeared to have a crease and probably woulda gotten some nice YAC.

the veteran Glenn is better than that. against a good team like Denver - he needs to play like it.

Hey, I know that. "My guy" or not, I am Terry toughest critic here. He played what I thought was a lousy game on Thanksgiving, and the thread I started calling him out was only half in jest. I thought he lacked concentration that entire game. No excuses, especially since Bill has said he deliberately tries to get Glenn involved as early as possible in a game because he's a different player when you do".

But he's not a coward and any "alligator arm" references are off base, imo.

If people are referring to the 3rd down pass play to Terry late in the 4th quater....That play should have never been called at all......The DB was playing Terry to close......it had no chance. According to Drew Pearson the play was an audible.

The first pass play of the game is what we are referring to, CBZ.

That's what I get for opening my mouth before reading the thread.... :D

We're even then..that's what I just did on your thread..and it was only one sentence I had to read. :D

CBz, According to Drew Bledsoe it was an audible also.

Quick slant or comeback would have been better audible plays.

Hell, in hindsight we can all look like Guru's. At the time with the success that the Cowboys had experienced with that play, any of us behind center might have called the same audible.

I dont know about that. Commanders have been pitiful a lot more often than the Cowboys in recent years.

I tell you, I have a system. haha.

:D

BTW - I wasnt trying to single you out besides the Pearson reference.

Just in general. :beer2:

The alligator arms may have pushed it a tad but Terry Was "distracted" about going over the middle. That slight hesitation was why he dropped the pass. I'm not calling him a coward, never did. But he had a reaction that caused the distraction that caused the dropped pass. That was a 20+ yard pass he dropped to start the game -

If they would only listen to us the Cowboys and Commanders would be in the NFC Championship game every year...... :D

I wish. Both teams are losing games that they should be winning this year.

Heart stoppers almost every weekend.

How the hell do YOU know who was 'distracted?" And why do you assume he was 'distracted' about 'going over the middle?

Watch the tape. The ball WAS sightly deflected. If you can't make it out, trust Simms who flat out said that it was. The second showing near the half clearly showed it was.

That was NO excuse, he should have caught it, but to say it was being on the middle of the field that 'distracted' him is just abother way of calling him gutless.

The so-called 'reaction' was probably to the deflection, the trajectory of the ball. Or maybe the freaking sun was in his eyes.

Yeah, he dropped a deflected pass to start the game. Shall we go play by play and point fingers for each one of them?

I played the game as a WR and CB - in high school

It was not tipped and if it was it still hit him in perfect stride and hit his hands.

Footsteps - Terry heard them

And it impacted the play - JMO and I stand by it.

And Terry is one of my favorite players.....

His forte is not going over the middle.

You played the game in freaking high school and that makes you capable of understanding what goes on in the mind of any receiver at any time?

Even for your bloated ego that's a stretch.

Stand by whatever you like.

But if Bill Parcells thought any of his receivers were gutless, they wouldn't be on that field.

Btw, be prepared to hear some footsteps of your own.

This is WAR. :D

Nors they didn't even have the "forward pass" when you played high school football. :D

Oh I was told by a little bird that they needed someone to clean up the mess after you delivered a beating to a certain "Pat's fan".

That will all depend on my mood after this Virginia Tech-Carolina game ends.

I'm already in a pretty good one after seeing Bobby Bowden lose three straight.

A resounding Hokie victory might just win Nors a reprieve. Tonite, anyway.

I guess "Alligator Arm" Terry is now lumped in with "Marginal" Crayton and "Can't Separate" Johnson.

Only Peerless Price is worthy of Drew Bledsoe, in case you haven't noticed.

Maybe Bill will realize that next Sunday..he better get that quivering mass of jelly, that craven, distracted middle-of-field shirker #83 off that field and Price in his place.

Pronto.

The season may depend on it. :D
