The problems are real; not in our heads.

It was a preseason game.

Why haven't the Chargers and Broncos been looking at it in the same way as you then? Look who solely cares if you win in preseason but playing fundamentally well on both sides of the ball and special teams and doing so while minimizing penalties - well that would be a nifty goal don't you think?

No, but I do have to wonder what pleasure you get in being ridiculed for every one of your posts... it seems kinda sick to me, wanting to hang out with a bunch of people who have no respect for you...

Do you get some pleasure out of being despised?? Does it validate your own sense of self-loathing??
Self respect is most important. you dont go through life worried about what others think of you. i am who i am. and im not worried about what others think of me. life is to short. and it's just my sports opinion. i take it for what it is.

Take it to EXTREMESKINS then....:laugh2:

Cowboyrock, it is not you opinions that everyone objects to; it is your flying under false colors. No one thinks you are really a Cowboys fan. Admit you are a fan of a different team and then fire away. You won't get more agreement, but more respect.

:D

What if its ALL in our heads....seriously, think about it.

Not just that, but what if the hokie pokie is really what IT'S ALL about?

Tony Romo concentrated too much on getting the ball to Terrell Owens; and then missed a wide open Sam Hurd for a touchdown.

Marion Barber didn't provide a spark in the running game, as was promised, and was a non-factor during the time that the first stringers were playing except for one nice play on a dump pass. Felix Jones is already showing more pizazz than Barber.

The real issue, though, is the lack of definition on the part of the offense when it comes to continuity.

What I mean is, that they seemingly are over confident in the passing game, and are trying too many lower percentage- big yardage plays; which result in 4th downs when the defense is able to stop them.

It reminds me of an Ernie Zampesie offense. He always said he had to make himself call a running play.

The Cowboys cannot expect to 'wing it' all year long on the arm of Tony Romo. It will take a consistent running game that will chew up the clock, and demoralize and wear down the defense; and that is when the offense can expect the big plays from the passing game.

There's one glaring problem that's hanging over from last season- the lack of committment to the run, giving continuity and rhythm to the offense.

The overconfidence of the offense is scary at times- but they are not doing what it takes to be dominant on the field. Anybody can throw the ball.

It takes a champion to drive the field with control and direction- wearing down and demoralizing the other team's defense with physical power, and then striking quickly with the pass when the opportunity is there.

Thanks. Now I can't get that tune out of my head! :banghead:

I've been watching the NFL for 30 years and I agree the preseason means nothing. We hardly every won preseason games under Jimmy Johnson with his good teams. Obviously, Denver sucked last year and they were all amped up last night. I can overlook a flat performance. But losing Austin is a problem, and our defense without Spencer and Newman is a problem. Suddenly the Cleveland game looks pretty dicey. If we don't get a big pass rush against them.........long day IMO.

That is my absolute favorite bumper sticker. Something about that just kills me.

Slice it up any way you like it; but without a solid offensive ball control game plan, you'll see many good looking drives fall short.

This team has become a passing team, and they only run to keep the defense honest.

The problem with that, is that they don't get the momentum from wearing down the defense and the clock with the running game. The recievers are winded, and lose a little of their edge on the defenders when it comes to quick moves.

The running game establishes dominance on the line of scrimmage; and it will help an offensive line develop a rhythm.

It's why passing offenses traditionally have failed; because even though they have the flash, they fail when it comes to controlling a game.

It will be very interesting to see the offensive run/pass ratio after the regular season begins.

Ok, so can we wait until we actually have a game plan before we freak out?

Tell us about your coaching experience

OMG, what the hell, did the regular season start, because this is getting ridiculous. Some of you people are morons. Its preseason, damn.

The only thing I'm concerned about is having three decent or better WRs and not beating ourselves. And having a pass rush.

Well I know leeblair doesn't like to brag, so I'll let you know that he is a renowned tee-ball coach.

He is also convinced that he could successfully coach the Cowboys - if you gave him a year to get the nuts and bolts figured out. After that, he would be very successful because it is no different than coaching tee-ball.
