If Cooper Rush were to outperform Dak in the off-season or preseason should he become the starter? Or if Dak misses the first 4 games and we are undefeated with Rush and the offense is rolling, should Dak get the starting position back? What factor should determine who our starter should be?

Rush is extremely young and inexperienced in the professional game and our offense to be seriously considered as a viable replacement for Dak in 2018.

I'd be surprised if the FO and staff were to make such a drastic change in 2018, unless Dak really had a drastic downturn in his performance or an injury.

I believe the problems that our offensive line experienced with their pass protection in 2017 had a devastating effect on Dak and the time he had to pass.

Only way Dak loses his job is injury. And running increases the odds of that happening

Don't be so sure. As I said, a drastic downturn in Dak's performance could possibly cause consideration of replacing him. If he had adequate pass protection and completed a paltry 40% of his passes, great consternation would surely ensue. Needless to say, it's unlikely but nevertheless, remotely possible. Yes, injury could and would be the most dominant factor, though.

The offensive scheme is limited but, if Rush showed the signs of executing it more efficiently then Dak, like say throwing more downfeild in the 20+ yard range with greater accuracy. Would it warrant a QB switch?

The best player should play. If Rush showed better pocket awareness, better accuracy, and/or a better command of the offense, then he should start.

This team won’t do that but it’s the way it should be.
I agree 100 percent with all of your points.

Our main problems this season were letting 2 very good offensive linemen walk and losing the best running back in the NFL for 6 games along with letting defensive players walk . But we went younger I think we will be better next season and Dak will be better because of the beating he took this season

I believe that a lot of our struggles this season came from ball placement not being very accurate. Downfield, they were not catchable and in the middle of the field, they limited YAC.

Taking a beating doesn't necessarily translate to being better the following year. It oftentimes makes a QB more timid and uncertain of his protection. Hopefully that won't be the case. Let's hope the OL improves substantially in their pass protection in 2018. If that comes to fruition, I'd expect Dak to improve, although there's no guarantee it'll happen as we'd prefer.
