If Cooper Rush were to outperform Dak in the off-season or preseason should he become the starter? Or if Dak misses the first 4 games and we are undefeated with Rush and the offense is rolling, should Dak get the starting position back? What factor should determine who our starter should be?

I haven't completely threw the towel in on Dak, yet he has shown enough for me to seriously doubt he is the answer. I just don't get the lack of criticism he receives for the offense's inefficiency this season. Get rid of everyone, cause they can't get open, really?

It won't be Rush for sure, maybe a highly drafted QB, but once they game plan rush, he's done.

What's with the Rush crush?
Neither of these Guys will ever be the biggest reason We win a SB, best We can hope for either, is that They're not the biggest reason why We don't.

No, Dak is the face of this franchise now. He won over the hearts of Cowboy fans ousting Romo who had propped up this franchise for a decade.

Jerry is all in on Dak or he’d look a fool for ending Romo’s career early . Plus Dak has become a star in the NFL, leading jersey sales and very marketable.

We’re determibed now to retool this offense , bring in new coaching where we can and surround Dak with as much support as we can.

Dak is in his second year correct? Statistically he has been good to very good. He got stuck this season having to go 6 games without Zeke and overcoming Linehan and his JV scheme. He was carrying the team until Atlanta and then fell off. Why? He got hurt and beat up that game. Why did he get beat up? Well because the moron coach refused to adapt to protect him. That game alone should have gotten Linehan and or Garrett to be fired. He was carrying the team before that.

The dislike of Dak befuddles me.

And then add in the fact that Dak was extremely raw coming in and really should have sat a couple years while he learned the position.

In my opinion Dak has difficulty working the sidelines unless he is rolling out or scrambling. This is why Beasley and Witten have been covered so differently this year. Defenses are crowding the middle and leaving opportunities to the outside. No only is Dak not taking advantage of that, I don't see evidence that we are even trying.

So if Rush came in and he was able to make reads and throws to the whole field I would be inclined to keep him in if we are winning, even if statistically it looks like he needs a little more time to develop. So if Rush comes in the preseason and outperforms Dak I would say that we are in the land of QB controversy because there are some things in Dak's game that limit what plays we can run.

This is it...
Look at what happened this year to Marcus Mariota when they ran a 1990s ground based attack, dude had his worst season in his life. 13tds 15 INT and a QB rating of 79.
At least the titans recognized the problem and fired the coach who wants to run a 90s offense.

We stay the course while blaming Dak, Witten, and the entire WR Corp. meanwhile every ex player, current player and anyone who worked under this coaching staff tell the world the problem....

And yet you still get crybaby fans here blaming the QB.
Look at Goff with Fischer’s offense compared to this year...night and day.

Yea man.... you just said the 2016 NFL Rookie of the year should have sat a few years.

Think about what you say before you type it.

I did.

When a young QB gets shoved into the mix before he is ready, he often develops bad habits, and doesn't learn certain aspects of the game. This is especially true when the youngster comes from a shotgun type O.
Dak's footwork and mechanics needed much work before he ever stepped onto a field in the NFL.

So, what happened in Dak's 2nd year? His footwork is still a work in progress. He's still throwing off his back foot way too much. He's still got some problems in how to handle pressure.

While Dak should have been learning, he was handing the ball off and throwing lots of short stuff. Might have delayed his development.

Seriously, the little "should have thought before you typed" thingie is cute and all, but weak. I'm thinking you should have assessed and evaluated a lot more before you typed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have long thought only the truly great players can overcome the Cowboys garbage coaching and culture. Lee, Witten, Smith, Martin, Beard and Zeke currently fit that bill. One of those guys gets hurt and it all goes south. This is why so many early picks and FAs fail here. Good players but need coaching. They don’t get it here. Very interesting that our secondary from last season moved on and had good years. Very interesting to hear Barry Church describing the Jags prep vs Dallas. Dez could have been great but has been taught to not improve, pout, and slip. Very interesting to see Cedric Thornton go to Buffalo and have a good second half. Amendola is a star but could not cut it in Dallas? I could go on and on. This team has no hope with Garrett and the old drunk calling the shots. The fish rots from the head down in Dallas. This upcoming season will truly prove that the leadership stinks. Talented roster. Good draft coming up. Some cap money. It will amount to nothing.

Tom Brady would only be mediocre under Garrett, that's how bad he is.
