Everything's already been said on this thread. You can't say "problem isn't the defense" that just shows where your biased eyes leans at all times. Offense going 3 and out for 2 drives happens a lot. If you think that's not commonplace in that time of the year for any team, you clearly hold this team to way high unobjectionable standards and maybe you'll watch Kansas City going 3 and out in the first half with just 3 possessions and see what happens.
Point is.... offense going 3 and out twice in one half is way more common than a defense giving up 273 yards rushing. Let's point the finger at the more egregious stat. I realize the offense is putting a lot more pressure on the defense by going 3 and out, but even if that situation arises the defense is still not supposed to play that poorly. Not give up 290 yards at halftime anyways. They're supposed to get at least one stop or two. They got none. That's just an all-around meltdown. And it sticks out like a sore thumb. You're the #5 ranked defense. A bad game happens though, I realize. It is a team loss, which is why you have to look at it like a team loss. Offense wasn't great, defense was terrible. At the end... we had 22 points was scored which I'll take given the conditions, but obviously defense has to play way better than that.
