The answer why we are not creating turnovers is so simple. We had 31 turnovers last year on defense. Let's look who had them......

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/2014.htm

Bruce Carter 5 INts
Orlando Scandrick 2 ints 2 FF
Justin Durant 1 int 1 FR 2 FF
Sterling Moore 2 FR 1 FF
George Selvie 1 FR 1 FF
Dwayne Harris 1 FR
Anthony Spencer 1 FR 2 FF
C.J. Spillman 1 FR 1 FF
Henry Melton 2 FR
Keith Smith 1 FF
Terrell McClain 1 FF

FF=Forced fumble
FR=Fumbles recovered
INT=interception

17 of the 31 turnovers are from guys that are no longer here......

We are on pace for 8 this season.....Do the math

The guys that were creating all those turnovers are no longer part of the organization....:banghead:

Now look @ this year......

Sean Lee 1 INT
J.J. Wilcox 1 INT
Greg Hardy 1 INT 1 FF
Nick Hayden 1 FR

And that's it...........4 turnovers:omg:

Disagree, the reason, imo, is we don't have enough Boise State players on defense.

Think how much better the team would be and how much money Jerry could save on scouting if we just drafted a straight Boise St ticket every year. Better do it quick before Belichick figures it out.

it was unrealistic to think they would repeat the turnover margin from last year to this year.

Or it could be the vanilla scheme that we play has became so predictable. Our vaunted pass rush is non existent and we are the least blitzing team in the NFL this year. Put that together with a offense that rarely even get's us a lead, teams will be patient, wear down this vastly over rated defense and thrash them in the fourth quarter.

Boise St cant even make the college playoffs how would they help in the pros?

Heres a list of boise st players in the NFL. We have the worse record and the most Boise St players. Hmmmmm

Agree....I wouldn't have brought McClain or Lee back. Thought the writing was on the wall ...clear as day when McClain quit in the Green Bay playoff game. As for Lee...we should have known after the ACL tear.....his body was breaking down. I still would have liked to have seen Carter comeback though...but I wouldn't have paid what Tampa paid either.

What? Sean Lee is one of the best linebackers in the game when healthy. Not bringing him back is asinine when you talk about last year. First off he's under contract. I do think he may consider retiring, but if he can stay play he needs to be out there.

Not being funny, but eventually Belichick figured out drafting Florida Gators each year did not pay off.

Good stuff. Imo the problem is not so much the lack of turnovers but the way that our D turns to swiss cheese in crunch time. We don't get the stops when we absolutely need them.

we're so bad on 3rd down

I kind of want him to retire. Part for his sake. And part for the team.

I'd rather not add yet another hole to fill on this defense. We already have safety, inside linebacker, and defensive tackle to worry about.

You do not think a player that is constantly injured is not a hole waiting to happen?

Concussions can happen to anybody. Look at Kuehcly in Carolina. You think they're considering parting ways with him?

Well this is one thing I had not thought of, I did think it was bad to let durant and carter go, before I knew this.
So this is something that may not have been considered when judging these guys.
Some guys are good at getting TO's and some arent.

good post, forward it to valley ranch maybe they learn something.

Well that it was rolando M. who knocked out both of our top LB's , makes me wonder.
First he tries to hit the RB which wasnt needed, then hits lee's head with his forearm and knocks him out.

Few plays later Rolando is on the ground, and hitchens hurts himself trying to not step on Rolando.

So far I dont see any speed or great play from rolando, he is just knocking out our players.

About lee, he should take a break, 2 concussions close together is not good, I would hold him out till carolina game.

He hasn't been one of the best LBs this year. He's been kind of invisible. Playing the Will was supposed to turn him into a monster, not a mouse.

Bad as #54 was, at least he got enough depth in his drops that he was in the picture. McClain can't get 5 yards away from the line of scrimmage this year.

Since 1940, there have been 17 teams with 0 takeaways in 5 of their first 8 games, including both the Ravens and Jaguars this year.

Last Sunday night, Dallas became the first team in 76 years with 0 takeaways in 6 of its first 8 games.

The record for a full season is 9 such games, set by the Bills in 2002 (coach fired next season) and later tied by the 2012 Eagles (coach fired) and 2013 Texans (coach fired).

You can't sign guys like Murray, Carter, Durant and Harris (biggest loss imo) and expect to sign guys like Hardy and resign the offensive line when they come up. There is a cap remember. And why wouldn't the FO let Carter and Durant go with how Hitchens played on a cheap rookie contract?

Can't sign everyone people. If there was no cap all these guys would still be here. Jerrah as loyal as they come.

:clap:
