The Market just crashed............ Neil Kaepernick is now available

He sold his 3 million dollar digs in San Fran and bought a 3.2 million dollar condo in N.Y.,,, why ,,he would do that and I should care enough to post this? I don't care about him ,but had read about the coastline bounce.

Romo gets released. Bank on it and get used to it. Thats NFL football. It's sadly the business facts of life. He will not be a Cowboy going on. Clubs will just wait for him to be released. Its no more complicated than that.

Well crap, if that's the case, from what I've gathered around the web it's going to happen sooner rather than later, like in a couple of weeks

Negotiating ploy. Now teams who are interested will have to begin negotiating at a higher level of compensation. Dallas needs to do the same thing. Come out and say they planned the cap to have Tony and Dak for at least two years and nothing has changed. No release and no trade unless market value is paid. Period! Romo can go find a team willing to give up a high pick or he can play in Dallas or he can retire.
yeah probably true, but they may really want to keep him.

Now about this same approach with Romo, Dallas needs to indicate they will keep tony if they dont get a # 1 , and get that out there now.
To not say anything and the FA period opens, weakens their position.
They should have already been saying they will keep tony, even if it isnt true.

The way it is now with no word from FO , or big Jerry, even our fans think tony will be cut
so why give anything for him !!

Its to be expected. Never mind the dreamers. Tony is gone...mostly because of money and the facts of football. He, simply cannot be kept as a backup!! The club and Prescott doesn't want it and certainly Romo doesn't want or need it. Logically, he must be released...to svae 14 million in wages and 5 million more in cap space. Plus the emotional best interest for the Club. The savings in wages and cap...l really don't know is factual....

It looks like the Cowboys will be spending the least money on the qb position in the entire league.

Dude barely played. If there were teams clamoring for him, they were idiots to begin with.
And their were teams who were interested in Grappolo (spelling) from NE and he only played 6 qtrs his entire career.

I would not release Romo under any circumstances.

I wholeheartedly agree. Our front office has performed much better under Garrett (on the whole) more consistently than it has at any time between Garrett and Jimmy Johnson. That's a long stretch.

We have drafted well, built a stud OL, found a QB, and are not the laughing stock of the NFL anymore. Releasing Romo for no compensation would mean that we have learned absolutely nothing and that the progress we have made over Garrett's tenure was mere luck and not the result of any sort of intelligent thought.

If Romo played for the Patriots everyone would be predicting a kings Ransom for Romo in the same way that the Commanders got fleeced for RGIII. Romo is a valuable commodity and should be treated so. It should be protected as much as your daughter's virginity.

I want to see the Cowboys get this right. Either get a Kings ransom for Romo, or pay him to be a Cowboy next season and see what happens after that.

You obviously did not listen to Stephen yesterday at the combine. The FO thinks that Tony has done as much for the Cowboys as most any QB they've had. They are not going to make Tony hold a clipboard for another year. Jerry wants a relationship with Tony after he retires which could happen this year if he is told he is being traded to a losing team for picks. Just not going to happen....This is Jerry's Cowboys and he never treats his stars that way.

If Jerry releases Romo then he is the shittiest GM in all of football.

Jerry might do that but the thought behind it is complete liberal gender fluid nonsense. He's the GM. You do right by the team not the player.

I totally agree. Thinking otherwise is really total utter stupidity.

I don't think some are taking into account the full picture here.
They are telling a pro bowl level QB that he is not going to get to compete for the job he lost by injury fair and square.
I won't argue the pros or cons of that..and I am a Dak fan too.
But it unusual.
Romo 100% took the high road last year as he always does.

In return for not getting to compete, and to go with all the other massive good-will he has built up here his entire career with the front office, that ups the odds of a release.

The rest of league is paying attention as well...especially other players.

I really don't care if other players are paying attention, other than it is sending the wrong message. They paid attention to Jay Ratliff and Kyle Orton too. If we let Romo walk all we do is look stupid to other organizations and that is far more important than a ficticious player looks at us.

Steven Jones has been getting more and more influence in the decision making as does Will McClay. I doubt either of them would support giving Romo away, much like we refused to over pay to move up in the draft for excessive compensation.

I'm hoping for a 3rd and a conditional 5th that could become as high as a 2nd. Something like that.

I really don't think that is enough. Desperate teams will overpay for Romo because you can't buy a franchise QB at WalMart.

If you want to trade him now and get some cap relief, you aren't likely going to get much better than a 3rd rounder this year and a conditional pick next year. Now you could roll the die, keep Romo and then hope like hell another Minnesota situation happens where a top team loses a QB in camp, then you could really cash in. But how likely is that to happen?

Exactly.....They watched us give away DWare when there was a 12 team market for him..... he was signed instantly... we gave them DWare for nothing and he helped beat us and he got a ring

I didn't see any players say 'Man what a great franchise DAL has, let me go play there for less money"

Doubling down and doing the same thing with Romo is moronic, especially for PR ...we got way more juice out of having EE and Dak than we would ever get from Old Man Romo... all the young guys and old guys want to come to DAL to play with EE, Dak and our OL because we are America's Team again not because JJones has broner for Romo
