That play where Roy gave up the TD run to Leinart is EXACTLY why we need to GROZ. He's got the players more worried about technique and NOT giving up plays that they don't MAKE plays themselves.

The rookie Roy wouldn't of hesitated like today's Roy did. The rookie Roy would of come up and knocked Leinart's block off.

Mike Zimmer... turning good players into average players since 2000.

Also..

If the injury is as serious as I think it is, Greg Ellis' career is over. He's too old to come back 100% from an achilles tear. He'll never be the same pass rusher again. As it is, he was only solid in that area anyway (although he was having a monster game today). Sucks, but that's pro football sometimes.

Anyone else getting tired of TO dropping passes? A long TD doesn't erase all the drops.

JuJo seems to be running tentatively again. Earlier in the year he was patient in waiting for the hole to open up, but when it was there he would explode through it. He's not exploding anymore. He left yards on the field today.

Romo... nuff said.

Witten is great at getting open, but he couldn't make a light pole miss in the open field.

(watching the Saints game)... Copper just lost the game for the Saints.

MBIII is the real deal.

Glad to see Keylon Kincade get some carries. He's not real gifted physically, but he has great vision.

Anyone else notice our pass rush completely disappear (almost) after Ellis got hurt? Ware needs to learn to get pressure on the QB CONSISTENTLY. With Zimmer around, I don't know if that'll happen.

Jason Hatcher needs to quit dancing and get after the QB. He doesn't attack, he stands up out of his stance and puts some weak arse moves on the OL and gets nowhere. Use that size/speed ratio and ATTACK the freakin' QB!

Time to find out if Carpenter can play.

That plkay was because roy had to play coverage and respect the pump fake since it was questionable if Lienart was beyond the LOS. If he had gone after Leinart and Lienart threw it over the top everyone would have ragged Roy for head hunting and not trying to cover. Roy was the only that could have made the play I can live with what he did.

There was no one to cover.

Again, the Rookie Roy wouldn't of hesitated, He would of attacked and knocked Leinart's block off.

I was pleased with Owens today - did you see his celebration after his TD?

There WASN'T one..and no sidelines "action", and no guff to Tony (that we saw) because he only had 2 receptions and fewer than 20 yards in the first half. He may even realize how much heat Terry has been taking off him all year...first half he was doubled a lot.

Owens looked today like he 'got it'.

That's REAL good news.

A couple of drops doesn't bother me...not one whit, IF he plays like the team player he played like today.

Now is it a requirement for roy to have eyes in the back of his head to know that there was no one behind him. Give the guy a break if anythin he hesitated because everyone has come down on him for being inadequate in coverage and always going for the hit.

I think he wasn't talking cuz he had no room to talk. You drop a pair of passes, you need to keep your mouth shut.

I don't think he got it, he just knew he'd look like a fool celebrating after the two dropped passes earlier.

Who knows, maybe the drops up to now will make him a better player the second half of the season, but that wasn't the case today (other then 1 play).

You are ignoring that while he had a few drops, not only did he have a long TD, he also went up and caught several not great passes in coverage.

Maybe but the next week he would done the same thing and been run out of town because he left his coverage zone. All I am saying is he can't win because he is supposed to be the 2nd coming of Ronnie Lott. Not to mention what would he have done would have lightened his wallet a little more. A sideline play with a QB and a hitter like roy I can see at least a $20K fine happening.

I was referring to what he's done all year, not just today.

And great players make those great plays, and VERY LITTLE of the bad plays. He's making a lot of bad plays. He's getting paid a lot of money to make those good plays, he needs to continue that AND cut down on the bad plays. PERIOD.

That's the dumbest thing EVER posted here.

Yes, Roy, let the QB score cuz you don't want to get flagged/fined.

And the rookie Roy would have been criticized to no end if there had been a TE, RB, or WR running behind him somewhere and he gave up the easy TD. Kinda like Ellis gave up the easy completion earlier because he ran after leinert, of course on that play, Ellis KNEW there was someone there.

COMPLETELY different type of play. Leinart wasn't 3 yards from the endzone on the Ellis play.

Edit: and some of you seem to think I'm blaming Roy here, I thought I made it obvious who I was blaming. So enough of the Roy apologies as I'm not even blaming him. I'm blaming Zimmer.

Well, whatever his motivation, what counts is his actions.

It'll take a whole lot more than one professional outing to convince me he's 'changed', but I gotta give the devil his due today - TO was NO distraction.

ZIP showboating - that had to be a very conciously applied decision.

So props, TO!

I don't think he's been a "Distraction" at all this year. I don't buy into the media crap about him. I'm only talking about his performance on the field. He needs to cut down on the drops. He's got a whole season's worth already.

I will admit I was happy to see him not do anything "crazy" after the TD although his TD celebrations don't bother me (as long as he doesn't get flagged).

My only problem with him is the drops. He's been known to drop passes his whole career, but this is getting ridiculous.
