Craton and Roy #11 have started 17 games past two years.

A) 2007 50-697 7TD'S 13.9 YPC
2008 19-291 2 TD's 15.3 YPC

B) 2007 64-838 5 TD's 13.1 YPC
2008 17-232 1 TD 13.6 YPC

Note: Kitna passed for 8,276 yards 2006-2007. So lets remove that excuse upfront.

If Kitana threw for 8 yards in 2006 and 2007 why do you only bring up RW 2007 stats? and not his from 06?

I'll give you this -- you're very subtle in skewing the stats in your direction.

He tries to use stats ..... but they always seem to be his undoing when you really look at it.

Then he disappears from the thread.

I guarantee if the Pats had acquired Roy he would be ecstatic.

He does not like Roy because Hostile does ..... its really that simple.

Because the 06 stats don't fit his pathetic argument.

Could you also let us know how many times Roy was double covered versus Crayton? Since Roy had a rookie across from him in 2007 with no one noteable as a Tight End, he might have been the recipient of maybe one or two double teams. Meanwhile, Crayton had two guys that some teams would consider as "serviceable" players, which might have left Crayton in one on one coverage on more than a few occassions.

Also, Roy went to the Pro-Bowl after the 2006 season, so aren't you really shooting a hole in your own point by including Kitna's 2006 numbers?

EXCELLENT point. He's comparing Crayton's numbers, as the clear #3 on his team (When you consider that clearly TO and Witten are the top two options), with single coverage 95% of the time, or better, to a guy who was the clear #1 option on his team who would be recieving doubles the majority of the time.

Once again, and this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, Nors is proven to lack even the smallest amount of knowledge when it comes to football and thus continues to make posts like this that continue to make him look foolish.

Right on the friggin' :money:

It is his lame way of trying to get even for the years of spankings.

Why is everyone so caught up in the draft picks?

We gave up a late first round pick for a receiver that is a proven pro-bowler in the NFL. Yes, we could have waited until the end of the year when his contract was up, but the Lions would have franchised him to gaurantee getting a first rounder for him anyway.

The third and sixth rounder, of which we had multiple, gave us an extra 10+ games with him this year.

I guess I don't see how that's a bad thing.

I thought Jerry had learned his lesson with the Joey Galloway fiasco. I CANNOT BELIEVE he did this. Anyone who likes Roy Williams is a UT homer and that's all there is to it. He has no burst! He has no game!

***? We couldn't have landed Boldin for a friggin' first, third, and sixth rounder?!?!

These are the types of deals that can be a team's undoing. I actually think Jerry may have it in his mind that Roy Williams is going to become our dominant #1 after Owens retires. Ridiculous. He is gangly and slow and cannot get any separation whatsoever. And when he is lucky enough to see some daylight (likely because the corner tripped over his own two feet), he drops balls faster than anyone.

Let me put it this way. Our lame *** safety Roy Williams can cover our new Roy Williams one-on-one any day of the week if that tells you something.

Here's what we really need...

1) A head coach who isn't as soft as Flozell's midsection. The penalties, the ridiculously awful special teams, the total lack of fire. All Wade and his "I want to be everyone's best friend" routine.

2) A ****ing offensive line that actually gives a damn. Thanks for letting us know that you're going to do better, Bigg Davis. But as has been the case with this team all too often over the last couple of years, their talk is worthless, just PLAY SOME ****ING BALL!!!

3) A defense that comes close to playing up to their ability. Again, a lot of this is on Wade. Newsflash: Our defense SUCKS at every level!!

4) And one more newsflash: Last year's team would kick the living bejeezus out of this year's team. Know that.

3)

Boldin is over-rated. He hasn't had to put his numbers up as the #1 target on a team. He is the classic Alvin Harper...let him leave and go to a team where he is the #1 guy and he may not put up the numbers you see in Arizona where he almost never gets double coverage.

I'll admit that Roy hasn't been great in Detroit, but he did make the probowl once as the only target they had....that's a number 1 wr.

Unless we have a lousy year, that #3 pick would not have allowed up to move up enough to get a sure thing WR....Great or just above average, Roy has already proven he's a player in the NFL.

Everyone's debating the original post, but I'm going to be patient first and wait-and-see what #3 after #4 will finally be.
