I'm listening to WWL 870 in New Orleans and they are bragging about a new survey that claims Louisiana, along with a few other states have the most "happy" residents.

Louisiana is the nastiest state I have ever been too...and I've been to over half of them. I have others tell me the same. This was before Katrina...I haven't been back since then.

I am still amazed they are still playing the Katrina card.

It is hard not to play the Katrina card. Over 200,000 homes were destroyed. That has a major and long lasting impact. A life altering impact.

Just one person's opinion. But, America as a whole has been more a bit interested in this ongoing story. I would not come close to calling it "America's City", but on every board I have visited this year there has been a consistent theme among several member of pulling for the Saints and New Orleans if their team couldn't be there. So, America's City? No. But a city that most of America is pulling for.

I have mixed feelings about your post. Katrina was bad....really bad.

But I agree that many over-sympathize with some who (1) didn't have enough sense to find a way out of the path of the storm and (2) STILL have not rebuilt years after the storm hit.

I don't actually live in New Orleans...wouldn't do it. I live in the suburbs.

I've been really tough on Saints fans this week, and I stand by it...their behavior as Saints fans can be ridiculously rabid and sometimes silly. But people in this community are really great people otherwise.

That said, GO COWBOYS!! :starspin

New Orleans is the biggest ****hole ive ever visited and sadly after Katrina some of their wonderful outstanding "citizens" migrated to my hometown.
