I looked through a few pages and it looks like most people want to avoid this question, but what do we do with Sean Lee both for the rest of the year and for next. I have to think there are a variety of situations where we can use any combination of LVE, Lee, and Smith in the short term and still get the most out of them... but looking ahead to next year. No way is Lee worth a $7 million base contract to us anymore, I would say keep him, but make him take a decent sized paycheck to play here next year.

Being a part time player and backup could extend his career.

Lee is an easy cut this off season, unless he takes a massive pay cut

The guys a China doll....time to move on

A healthy Lee is a nice problem to have. He is one the best LBs in the league when healthy. I would love to see a scheme devised that has Lee and LVE on the field together. They are two best LBs on the roster. Lee will be gone after this season.

It's hard to pay 7m a year to a guy who is so fragile. I love Sean Lee and think he has an awful lot to offer as a role player but maybe more importantly in the film room and practice fields for our 2 young LB studs.

Whilst they are both on rookie deals i say you keep him around

Funny how when a player is out, his contributions get minimized and Lee still has one of the best recognition minds in the game. He has future coach written all over him but that doesn't mean he has to take a pay cut. Smith and LVE are still on their 1st contracts.

Use Lee this year then cut him this offseason and use the money on useful free agents.

Time to move on.

Knowing JJ he may pay him the 7 million next year. He needs to go straight to coaching for us.

Lee has been on a team friendly contract
I don’t think it will be an issue with him
I suspect there will be an adjustment of some sort to keep him around until he’s added to the staff at some point
I see Lee more than any of the past players going into coaching

Both the Joneses and Garrett have a strong affinity for Sean Lee and I think he'd retire before playing a snap anywhere else.

I'd make him an assistant to Ben Bloom and give him the option to bow out gracefully. That or grab him a hamstring made of steel and keep him as depth.

Sean Lee is still a great player he just gets injured. I'm not reducing his salary. The guy is a beast , he just may not be starting but he is still in my rotation. We have the best LB group in the league in my opinion. Joe Thomas is starter quality and so is damien Wilson. They may not be pro bowlers but they can start and be solid and very good at times

I keep Lee as long as he wants to play and is able to when he's on the field at a high level, and I'm not worried about the cost. A linebacker corps with Lee, Vander Esch and Smith is better than one with Vander Esch, Smith and Wilson even if we only have Lee for half a season and he's taken off the field when we use two-LB sets.

Sometimes I think we're more concerned as fans about price than we are quality.

You place Lee in bubble wrap every preseason and you wonder why two games in he has hamstring problems for the year,......
