The season begins

I don’t think he is either.

He’s not going to magically live up to his #3 overall pick. He’ll be hard pressed to beat out Coop.

Still hard to believe that SF would give up that much to take him.
What was your opinion of Jordan Love to begin the 2023 season. I Imagine it was along these lines

No reason to hate this kid and the fact that he is a Cowboy with immense physical talent should make you an optimist

It’s been a very bleak offseason for sure. Having said that, I got pumped for seasons during the Campo years but I love football. The travesty in all of this is this team could have improved and they chose to get worse. At least on paper.

I’m going to make this short and sweet. I am the least excited and most pessimistic I’ve been since the mid 2000s.

Why???

Camp begins tomorrow. Our potential starters are Trey Lance., Brandin Cooks, Jaylon Brooks, Ezekiel Elliott, Brock Hoffman, Tyler, Guyton, and I’ll throw in Terrence Steele.

OMG, Please help me change my mind
seriously you think that all the guys not practicing right now, won't be here game one i say you're absolutely wrong...lmao dramatic much? these payers are NOT willing to lose 40 to $50,000 per practice missed and 1-2 mil per game missed. nope, won't happen...they will also lose FA credit status, they will be here......

this is just early posturing from both sides part of the negotiations. expected nothing to see,

its ONLY Practice

AI says CHILL!

Is that where your thought process went?

That is not mine. I would like to watch Trey's progress with CD, which is why I made that comment. It is going to be exciting to finally see what we got in Trey and CD being there will help
Heres to hoping it gets resolved one way or the other.
the incessant double downs by self proclaimed experts is getting old.

Never said I dislike him.

A top organization like the 49er’s gave up on him. And they are light years ahead of the Cowboys FO and coaching staff.

Your math is off you are not factoring in Purdy

Shannahan missed out. It was about future money.
You mean the future money the gave to same Darnold.

Sam Darnold made $4.5M as the back up and Trance made $940,000 last year and Josh Dobbs is making $2.25M this year.

Darnold/Dobbs $4.5M + $2.25M = $6.75M

Trance $940,000 + $5.3M = $6.24M.

The actually spent more a half million more without Trance.

The 5th year option of $25 million. Pay it or lose him to FA. So they get a 4th.
They took Lance as not to pay Jimmy G. As they knew he was just a bus driver. Then they lucked into Purdy. So they did the same with Lance. Thinking Purdy is the guy.
It was not about 2023 and what they would have paid him or Darnold. It was about beyond that.

How many times do I need to explain this?

Now Jerry made it that same situation, as he declined that 5th year option. And they may lose him to FA as well. However, chances are they can get at least that 4th round pick back in a comp pick. He is also in a good position to trade him or give a new contract if Dak fails again. If Dak succeeds and he gets a new deal. Then we will see how it goes from there.

I still think it was a good trade and a calculated risk.
Now if he stinks it up. Then yeah, another bone headed move by Jerry.

I just want what is best for the team.

Why would it be a pay it or lose it? So you are saying Dallas has no option of resigning Trance next year???

Their are no comp picks for players who do not play.

We are in zero position to trade him. Did Trance learn our offense when he was traded to us after camp with the Niners? No he did not.

So what value would Trance have trading him after a good camp? None.

No one trades for an inexperienced emergency QB, after camp for $5.3M.

Never going to happen.

****Reminder Al Davis passed away some time ago.
