I mean, c'mon, Brad Johnson is only 2 years older than Todd Collins, and is actually proven, although last year was nothing to brag about

Brad Johnson usually plays well against the Skins (2-1 including a game where he threw 4 TDs). He burned us last year in the season opener.

I don't think the Skins are winning because of Todd Collins -- there's just something awkward about that guy. I think Gibbs has the team playing inspired football.

I'm aware of the overall won/lost record, and the stretch between 1997 and 2004 was an absolute nightmare for us, but we don't do badly in the high-stakes games against you guys. Four that I know of off the top of my head where both teams had alot on the line for the game.

1972 NFC Championship
1982 NFC Championship
1983 @ Dallas 31-10 (battle for NFC East crown between two 12-2 teams)
2005 @ Wash 35-7 for final playoff berth
Nicely done trying to change the subject, but you were talking about how we're in trouble on your turf. You can't refute the fact that on your turf we're just as likely to win as you are, but on our turf we do what you claimed to do. Actually protect our house.

Oh and how about leaving out 1979, when Roger Staubach rallied the Cowboys from 13 points down in under 4 minutes and sent us to the playoffs and you to the showers. There are other examples I could use as well, but that one being the most crushing I'll stick to one.

You're right about the overall W/L and the fact that over the 47 years of the rivalry we haven't established a home-field superiority. Hell, even this season we managed to blow games to NY and Buffalo at home.

We'll see what happens. I do like the way my team is playing. You have an edge over us when it comes to skill players at various positions. I'm just saying the circumstances of this game would make a win for you very surprising...didn't say impossible.

I think the Steelers beat Buffalo a few seasons ago when the Steelers were 14-1 and resting starters in a meaningless game and Buffalo was 9-6 and needing a win to secure a playoff spot, so its not like its never happened.

48 years this year.

I like the way your team is playing too. They are taking care of their business and not worrying about what other teams are doing. I respect that. I said when Taylor was murdered that if they came together and made the playoffs it would be fitting. I still think so.

I expect to win, but if we sit a bunch of players and we lose, I am the last person who will be shocked. We have nothing to play for. If my team shows up motivated I will be both thrilled and a bit shocked. Your team is playing for their lives. No different than me expecting the Titans to beat the Colts.

Yeah, you sort of have a no-lose situation. The one thing I have yet to see is how our team handles the pressure of this situation, as this is the first really high-pressure situation this year where we are favorites to win going into the game based on the situation. I vividly remember the 1991 finale we had against the Eagles I was still ticked about losing, but proud that our backups nearly beat the Eagles at the Vet and I knew that alone showed we were ready to be in the Super Bowl.

Longley is probably most remembered for his performance in a Thanksgiving Day game in 1974 for the Cowboys against the Washington Commanders. Filling in for an injured Roger Staubach, Longley, then a rookie, threw two touchdown passes including the game winning 50 yarder to Drew Pearson with less an a minute remaining.

Uhhh, only your team has something meaningful in this game. The result of this game doesn't mean squat to our team, other than our win/loss record vs your team.

Not true-- the Boys could post the winningest single season in team history with a win... this is worth playing for, IMO...

Yeah, no kidding. Half of the Skins starters are either banged up or on IR. Seems a lot of people are forgetting that -- including Vegas.

If I was a betting man, I do believe I'd have a large chunk down on the Boys, getting THAT many points...

I expect it to be a lot closer than 9 points, even if the Cowboys play their backups. I expect the game to be similar to the Week 17 Eagles - Commanders game in 2005. The Eagles were banged up and they were playing with mostly backups. They gave the Skins a run for their money -- and it looked like they were going to win, but at the end of the game, the Skins came back and won it.
