I think anybody that watches football, be it an anlayst or just a fan, would consider both San Diego and New Orleans to be better than the Giants.

This is not about preseason predictions in July, this is about winning games in December against teams that are above .500.

You do realize that out of our 8 wins, only 1 is against a team that is currently above .500.

I dont know about you, but that does not fill me with confidence considering that 3 of our last 4 games are against teams above .500.

There are points during the season when the Giants have been considered better teams than either. To say nothing about how the teams actually matchup.

That said, if we played NYFG 10 times they way we did on Sunday, we win 7 of those games. It's not like we laid an egg or weren't fully capable of winning that game. It's just that our fans, as usual, have high expectations (a very good thing) and then act like babies when their expectations aren't met (a very bad thing).

What's with the matter-of-fact tone? Anyone who pays attention to football can see that the Chargers are a better ball club than the Giants, you don't need to go Urkel on us.

Divisional games are usually a toss up. The coaches know each other so well that you can throw records out the window. Unless one team is just dominant or one team is awful you can't predict one way or the other.

If you want a reason to be nervous, you should be considering the fact that they have Norv Turner. He's a great OC. Do I fear the Chargers? No. Do I think we can beat them? Absolutely. In fact I think they're overrated. They have trouble against NFC East defenses and their defense is not good. If we can score 24 in this game I think we take it.

And I'm sorry for calling you Urkel :laugh2:

I dont think the fans are acting like babies when there is an established track record of losing every single December. This is not just the team not meeting expectations, this is about the team playing good until Thanksgiving and then going into the crapper year after year after year.

This is not something made up or that has just happened. For some reason this team cannnot win games in December and this happens year after year after year after year.

Now this year the fans were told this was all going to change. We had good chemistry, the team was focused, and there were no controversies. Then the team went out and the first game of December was another loss. So people are naturally pessimistic that the team can turn it around when this crap happens every freaking year. Are we cursed or is all of this just a hugh coincidence???

How do you explain the fact that the team plays good up till December and then collaspes YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR..........Whats your explanation?

EXACTLY!!!!

Thank you for making my point. The team that just swept us for the season is inferior to the team we are playing this week.

Thus, if we have already lost twice to a team that is universally considered inferior to the team we are playing this weekend, why should anybody be confident of a win???

Do you want Dallas to win? I don't do the knee jerk, often, I try to refrain from posting right after a game because emotions will make you ********. A real Dallas fan will stop clamoring for heads and look at positives; matchups, performance against common opponents, etc. Leave the negatives to the wives around here.

I don't play what if's and cry about past performance in December and woe is me the sky is falling because Dallas lost a huge game on the road against a divisional opponent that was in a must win situation, had a QB looking like he was finally back from injury, and their starting RB active. NY answered the challenge, they had too.

We match up well against the Chargers. If we play a 60 minute game there's no doubt in my mind we'll win. Their offense has looked average when playing people besides the Chiefs and Raiders and their defense is not that good. Romo played out of his mind, and our defense got embarrassed on national TV.

This team is different. The Giants game was whacky but hell, the Steelers lost to the RAIDERS. Our special teams are vastly improved from last year, we had one miscue all season on the Hixon return and you can bet coach Joe isn't going to let that happen again.

We play solid ST, get some pressure on defense, and we'll win. What's been the most consistent unit this season? ST and defense.

No offense buddy, but I have over 5,000 more post than you do so dont come at me with "your not a real fan" crap.

I want Dallas to win more than anybody on here, but it is becoming very apparent that Wade just cant get it done. This defense is garbage, we let receivers run wide open on 3rd and long time after time after time. I actually saw freakin Bobbie Carpenter lined up in the slot covering Steve Smith. Who in their right mind would even come up with that dfensive scheme, that is one of the most ******** things I have ever seen. Dont even get me started on the tackling. I have not seen that many arm tackles since Jr. High, last time I checked it is the job of the defensive coordinator to teach proper tackling technique.

So let me recap for you, Wade's defense is easily confused resulting in receivers running wide open time after time, the scheme is fundementally unsound, see Bobbie Carpenter lining up in the slot to cover Steve Smith in man coverage, and the tackling is absurd with multiple players using poor technique game after game after game.

Now if I am not a "real fan" according to you because I point out these flaws, then so be it. The reason I point out these flaws is not because I enjoy the team losing, it is my hope that these problems will be corrected and the best way to correct problems is for the problems to become known.

Sticking our heads in the sand and pretending everything will be ok just seems ridiculous to me. I dont know, I guess losing doesnt bother some people.

Being bothered by losing and being borderline ridiculous with your expectations are two seperate things. Show me a coach who can go in and dominate every game and I'll show you a coach who has robots for players.

We were what, 3rd in the NFL prior to this game in pts allowed? First in the NFC?

Have you thought about the players might have blown some assignments? Or maybe our third string CB is just flat our mediocre? Our secondary ain't that great, sorry to break it to you. We rely on our front 7 to get pressure to bail them out and they didn't. You can't have 3 receivers running full speed for that long and expect any CB in the NFL to cover them, ain't gonna happen.

As far as Bobbie Carpenter playing the slot, he was probably playing an underneath zone since Smith was killing us. That's what team's do, Osi played an underneath on Miles a few times, who's dumb now?

Fans need to wake up. The other team gets paid too, and it's not like you're dealing with rocket scientists out there on the field. Wade can and does do his best to prepare them for the game, and as everyone on this board knows, he is a GREAT coordinator when his players execute. It's not his fault the players miss tackles, they've been tackling for how many years now? You can teach technique but you can't make the tackle for them, although seeing Wade do it would probably be amusing.

Also your post count is not directly proportional to your fan-dom, sorry.

Whatever dude, I am not going to get into a pissing match with you.

Just know this, Jerry said Wade had to win the division to get an extension. That is not an unrealistic fan expectation, that is what the freaking owner of the team said. Now if you play with the playoff generator you quickly realize that it is going to take a 3-1 record with one of those wins being over Philly for any realistic chance to win the division.

Thus, Wade has to win 3 of the last 4 (including the Philly game) or his arse is fired.

Wasn't trying to get in a pissing match, it was just my point of view on things and trying to calm down some fellow Cowboys fans :D

Yeah it's going to be hard to win the division, I agree. It's not impossible, we have 3 very winnable games, with 2 tough ones at home. @NO will be tough but we can't have 2 teams in 3 years go 16-0 in the salary cap era and we stand the best chance to beat them..I'm sticking to that!

Wade has to win a playoff game at the very least imo. He'll be spared by not winning the division if he can make it to the NFC Championship as a Wildcard. If not, certainly he's gone.

Maybe I'm an optimist. I certainly think anything is possible. I don't look at ways we can lose, I look at ways we can win. We certainly have a few different ways we can win, so I'm optimistic.

You tried to play the "you are not a real fan" card on him. You definitely wanted a pissing match, or you wouldn't resort to that type of cowardice.

I hope you are right my friend, I would give Wade an extension today if he can take this team to the NFC Championship.

Lets just say I am not as confident as you that will happen.:D

No, no I did not. It was a legitimate question, and if he'd thought it to himself he'd have answered "of course." Tension runs high on these boards and I was hoping to get his mind right a little bit and get him rooting for HIS team. It's a little disheartening to see fans that are upset try and tear down every other forumer that is hopeful for the rest of this season. Someone makes a legitimate point and you have a rabid fan chomping at the bit to call them an idiot or those that gloat in their negative predictions to boost their online ego's. There's no place for that. We are all(well most I think) fans of the same team, we get enough BS from the Eagles and Giants fans without eating each other.

You sir obviously take this forum very seriously to post something like that, like all of us are here to start internet drama over a message board. I mean really, how do you say that and take yourself seriously? Stop projecting on me.

Glad to see this thread still going strong. It's a roll call of sorts for the realitist and the dunshine crowd.

It will be fun to revisit come January and see how it all wraps up and who just vanishes.

Sheesh some of you guys need to grow a pair and act like men.. Look at what happened to the Steelers today.. Look what happened to the Patriots.. aren't those supposed to be the two greatest teams, like, ever? This is the NFL, teams lose.. heck, the Saints didn't even win today--- the Commanders lost.. We lost to a team with their backs against the wall, a hated division rival, at their place, in bad conditions.. it happens.

The passing game was dynamite.. Romo was fantastic, Witten, Austin, Roy Williams.. they all showed up..

We dominated the game, really.. we just let them break a few long ones.. this defense has been outstanding lately, so i'm not worried about them.. and the offense seems to have its groove back..

look, we dominated most of the game.. they just broke a few big plays and got a few ref's blown calls go their way.. we are 8-4 and still leading the division.. we go 2-2 the rest of the way and we'll be fine.. and this team doesn't look like they'll lose their cool, unlike some of our teams in the past... and unlike some of the posters on this board.

That you Wade? :laugh1:

I'll believe it when i see it with this team, same **** different season. Cutting MeO made people think things where gonna be different but the biggest problem with this team is and always was Wade ******* Phillips :banghead:
