The sky isn't falling. We don't suck. Playoffs are still likely.

Quiet, you! You can take all of your "facts" and "common sense" and go somewhere else. Your kind isn't welcome here. Only hysterics and knee jerk reactions. We obviously suck. Woe are we.

Knee jerk? How many years has this team underachieved and folded late in the season? How long does the team need to keep playing poorly before you see it as a valid point?

One, by my count. Last year. Perhaps two if you think we had a right to beat a good Giants team in '07.

My question: why do you consider the '09 team to have folded so early? Is it just that you're worried we're going to fold? Because you don't have enough data to conclude anything either way. I think at the start of the season, if someone told you we'd be 8-4 and have the tiebreaker for first in the NFCE, you'd probably have been ok with that. I don't believe for a second you'd have been pissed or claimed it was a choke.

Maybe we go in the tank. Maybe we don't. How 'bout we just support the players and see what happens?

Im just going off what I have seen the last few weeks. Its hard not to look at what this team has done at the end of the last 3 seasons and be optimistic. I support them, but realistically they have to prove to me that they are legit before I am going to think of them as any type of contender.

Well, beating WAS and man-handling OAK looks better now than it did at the time, at least. I think PIT and NO would agree with that.

I'm concerned, too, but not because I think we're playing poorly. We've got a really tough road to hoe, but at least we're playing together and are beating the teams we're supposed to beat. Our problem is that our team is performing right about at the level of its ability, but our fans think because we're the Cowboys that we naturally belong in the league's elite. We don't right now.

Because it's one game. December (and January, since we're counting the last Philly game in all of this) still has FOUR games left. Maybe you're right and this is another in a long line of December disappointments, and we miss the playoffs (or go one and done) AGAIN, and Wade gets canned and maybe we go with Garrett or maybe someone else and maybe that works out or maybe we go another 5-10 years without a serious playoff run.

As for me, I am willing to wait it out and see what happens with four games left to play and our Cowboys tied for 1st in the NFC East and and potential home playoff game. If the above scenario plays out and there is bitterness waiting for all of us in January, THEN I will freak out and pout and grumble and piss and moan and I'll have the entire offseason to do it.

I just don't understand why we are so willing to do it four weeks early.

Does that make me a better fan? No, you and I have the same right to root or boo or be angry or drink the koolaid for our own team. I just prefer to let the season play out before it happens. If we end up choking it away, and you are proved to be right, great, have a cookie. You were right. But I'm just not into that.

But then again, maybe it won't happen like that. I no "this year is different" is kind of lame after yesterday's game, but it's why we keep watching.

Sheesh some of you guys need to grow a pair and act like men.. Look at what happened to the Steelers today.. Look what happened to the Patriots.. aren't those supposed to be the two greatest teams, like, ever? This is the NFL, teams lose.. heck, the Saints didn't even win today--- the Commanders lost.. We lost to a team with their backs against the wall, a hated division rival, at their place, in bad conditions.. it happens.

The passing game was dynamite.. Romo was fantastic, Witten, Austin, Roy Williams.. they all showed up..

We dominated the game, really.. we just let them break a few long ones.. this defense has been outstanding lately, so i'm not worried about them.. and the offense seems to have its groove back..

look, we dominated most of the game.. they just broke a few big plays and got a few ref's blown calls go their way.. we are 8-4 and still leading the division.. we go 2-2 the rest of the way and we'll be fine.. and this team doesn't look like they'll lose their cool, unlike some of our teams in the past... and unlike some of the posters on this board.

So the Packers are going to beat the Ravens, Steelers, and Cardinals? Pass that over here....

Not to mention that the Giants need to get by the Eagles, Skins, and Vikings....
One down. That gives them 8 wins now. They'll get at least two more. What was that about passing something over?

Unfortunately, I found a scenario where it would require us to win 3 more to get in.....

Go to that playoff scenario generator and mess around.

Should the Packers win out, they can make it instead of us.

Imperative that we win this week.....and hope the Packers lose.

NO, MN, and Arizona are going for sure....can't see Arizona losing the rest of their games with their schedule.

So it's between the Cowboys, Packers, Giants, and Eagles and one is getting left out.

If we lose the next two and the packers win out, we are out of it.

If we lose the next two and the Eagles lose this week, it actually keeps us in should we win the final two.

So this week....hope the Bears win and hope that we win....as we all will be of course.

So you guys are still at it? I'm honestly impressed. Even in the face of 4 straight years of December collapses, Wade's track record of December failures everywhere he has been, and even after what you watched on sunday, you folks are STILL trying to convince people that we will turn it around.

What is it going to take for you people to realize that nothing has changed? Are we going to have to lose by 4+ TDs in new Orleans before you'll admit it? A loss in Washington? What?

I've never seen such denial. Ever. You people are worse than the Notre Dame fans who think it will all be fine because God is on their side.

Except this team has been leading the division for the last month, and is still leading it with four to play.

I think what most people are upset about is the possibility of another December collaspe. Look at it this way.........

Most analyst and fans would say San Diego and New Orleans are better than the Giants. Ergo, if we cant beat the Giants, how the hell are we going to beat 2 teams that are universally considered better???

Now if we lose those 2 plus the loss to the Giants, we are looking at 0-3 in December and probably missing the playoffs again.

That is why everybody is just pissed right now.

Yeah, it would only be the fourth time in his career that Wade has carried a division lead into December and lost it...

We led the division in December in '07, and ended up winning it, but looked poor in the process. We saw how that turned out.

well if the analysts so so, then why even play the games, just hand the SB to whomever Phil Steele picks in July.

Which teams? Seasons? And what were the circumstances? Or are we just going to infer something will happen again by counting how many times it happened in the past? Come to think of it, did we count to 4 or is that just a number that sounds about right?

It’s only 1 game out of the 5. Every time this year, the Cowboys have bounced back after a loss. See if they can, they have everything to play for now.

I think anybody that watches football, be it an anlayst or just a fan, would consider both San Diego and New Orleans to be better than the Giants.

This is not about preseason predictions in July, this is about winning games in December against teams that are above .500.

You do realize that out of our 8 wins, only 1 is against a team that is currently above .500.

I dont know about you, but that does not fill me with confidence considering that 3 of our last 4 games are against teams above .500.

Sorry, Slant. You've got a history walking into threads, making things up, then walking when challenged. You also tend to leap to conclusions with insufficient evidence and seem to think the force of your conviction is convincing enough for everybody. It's not.
