We might need a bigger spark.

Anything would be better than what we've had the last two games. I don't understand why people on this forum underestimate what a healthy McFadden can bring to the table. He's a damn good RB that is very versatile as a blocker and receiver as well. It's not like our passing game couldn't use some additional weapons.

Dunbar is supposed to be playing that role now and they cant even figure out how to get him the ball in space.

Grudgingly have to admit that the slant to Beckham--with the initial timing and the how he then just smoothly exploded away form everyone--was pure art.
In a morbid sort of way

I really want Darren McFadden active from next week on. Insert him in place of Dunbar. Since our receivers are having such a tough time getting open, we could spread DMac out every now and then. He's got a lot of speed and has sure hands. We need to make use of him the rest of the way. He can spell Zeke AND play a part in the passing game. We need a spark and maybe he can provide it.

Im leaning this way also. Has anyone heard how he looked in practice?

Dunbar is a waste of a roster spot. DMac can do anything Dunbar can do and do it better. He can also block very well in passing situations. Not using him is just mind boggling to me.

Don't they have to make a decision on McFadden real soon?

The slant that Dez fumbled was also a TD a couple games back, I think it was the Ravens. That happened on a blitz after the defense couldn't get pressure because of the OL and blitzed in desperation. I'm not sure if it was a hot read or just design but Dak went to the slant, just like last night to Dez right away.

To say Dez can't run that route is asinine.... both times the evidence is there by the fact he caught it on Jenkins.. and Dak can throw it when he's decisive..

The fumble is a different issue..

They also ran it in the red zone against Washington with success. What happened last night--I don't know.

Williams needs to be utilized more. Our best route runner of the downfield receivers.

Maybe so, but to say he's a body catcher would be an understatement. I couldn't believe how he was catching the ball last night. Got away with it but....damn it's mind boggling to watch. I'd show it to youngsters and say: "DON'T do this"

I mean....how is that possible? High School kids can run slants. Jebus....

I just think his route tree is limited. At Oklahoma St and in high school, he just relied on his athletic ability against inferior DBs. Also, him not being able to separate that well, limits his ability to run effective slants. His best routes are deep routes. Go routes and deep ins.

A staple of the Aikman-Irvin-Emmitt days. I feel like we have the perfect personnel to run this unstoppable play, but have no idea why we don't use. Playaction to Zeke. Draws LBs in. Creates an open space behind them. All Dez (or even TWill and Brice) have to do is get across the CB's face and box out. Dak sticks his foot in the ground and throws. No worry about the pass rush. No need for pocket presence. And with Dak's accuracy (when throwing on time), should be a gimme 10 yards. Tell me why I'm wrong?
Exactly. I don't understand why they never use it
