The City of San Diego is actually more to blame. They couldn’t generate enough interest to raise taxes or sell bonds to build a new stadium.

Californians already heavily taxed is difficult sell to the public and why the Raiders are moving and why the Rams and 49er owners all footed the bill personally. Same for Warrior owners.

:) :) If you told Californians they were gonna be taxed to build a doggie park they would Be happy and say yes immediately. In all honestly though , I think San Diego residents would’ve moved on a new stadium it weren’t for the owners.

It is a dump... kinda like it’s toilet bowl character and think it fits in well with the Big Sleazy. Candlestick was a utter dumphole for years that smelled like bad gas from the bay mud at low tide....and that too fit in perfect with South City and Hunters Point. A toilet needs poop to have a full life and meaningful function... nothing wrong with that. Carry on....

the dirty part covered the entire roof when I was there as a kid in the early 90s. Those side panels don't help the looks either as the finish always makes it look dirty. They are long overdue for a new stadium, everything in that area is just old and decayed looking.

The Superdome looks small compared to the new stadiums they have now. It looked gigantic when it was built. I can remember how big the astrodome looked when it was first built. They were calling it the eighth wonder of the world. It didn’t take long before it looked like the size of a hat box. The Superdome dwarfed it.

Given that New Orleans has been thru so much the past decade and a half, I not gonna crap all over their stadium.

Instead they lost their team because they wouldn’t build a new stadium.

I almost laughed out loud as I drove by the Superdome to my hotel recently. I couldn't believe how small the place was. I was expecting a huge stadium. I would bet 3 Superdomes would be the equivalent to the Cowboys stadium in size. When I asked the Uber driver what was going on w/ the roof.....he told me about the on going lawsuit between the company that applied the coating to the roof...that was suppose to keep it clean...and the city. It's costing the city of New Orleans 250,000.00 to clean it after only 3 years. And now there is a fight as to who is going to pick up the tab.

Anyway...thought it was funny...because the aura that was the Superdome...crashed for me last week. You hear about the great home field advantage that place is for the Saints. Sadly..It's surrounded by hundreds of homeless people...It a depressing place.

I gotta give New Orleans credit though...they do love their Saints. When Brees got hurt vs the Rams..I happen to be bar hopping from one place to another...only to see one Saint fan after another ready to cash in the season. Face in palms...tears flowing...utter disbelief as the Rams crushed them in LA.

What I took away from that was this...this is a brittle fan base right now. We go into their house....put up 2 scores in the 1st....we might just roll these guys..because...all their hopes went down w/ Brees.

Anyway....Enjoy the pictures.
