About time to close this thread.

C'mon mannn.

I wasn't calling Owens a cancer.

I've had family members die from cancer.

I'm not offended by the term.

I'm offended by the word idiot. I have a relative who's an idiot.

Just to beat some of you, here is my predicted response by you:

"It seems to run in the family."

There. All the air was let out of that balloon.

I have thought of this before, but it doesn't really bother me. And I have family members that have both survived and died from cancer.

I also think using the term 'warrior' to describe football players is misplaced but it doesn't irritate me to hear it.

However, I imagine that most cancer survivors (or sufferers) and combat veterans have a different take on this subject.
My guess is they look upon those who throw these terms around casually, and haven't been in their shoes, as naive.

And I'd bet it offends a good percentage of them.

Some of the responses in this thread are ridiculously sad. 12 yr olds in 30 yr old bodies... That's a waste of my time. Enjoy.

What he said. I get the impression people come on here just looking to argue about something.

I think "argue" is a bit strong. We just have different opinions on things. That doesn't mean there is a right and wrong side ... just two different sides.

My point in taking this thread lightly is that we've all had a family member or have known someone with all kinds of ailments. Yes, even my family. This world is too cruel and harsh on a daily basis, why take semantics so seriously? My heart does go out to those who have suffered through some physical ailment themselves or know someone who has. There is a lighter side to life ... why make it harder than it has to be?

I wasn't necessarily talking about you. But some people on here just look to stir up the pot. I won't name names, but all you have to do is look through this thread and pay attention to the replies to see who I am talking about. And it's not just this thread either.

I think you are pretty dumb.

My sister had cancer. She is going through remission right now. You don't see me on here taking it to the offensive. Its sad you are doing this just because of T.O.
