I know they list him as 6'1" 220 but I aint buyin that weight. Even at that he's still below average size by modern NFL QB standards. Our pass rush can get to him .. They got to him in the playoff game and the Eagles got to him and knocked him out of the game the following week. The main reason his numbers are as good as they are is his guys catch the ball. The 49ers have a drop rate of 3.7% to 6.1% for the Cowboys. Purdy's off target throw percentage is 13.1% while Dak's is 8.3%. We all have seen for ourselves that our tight ends have to be leading the league in dropped passes as a position group. That absolutely HAS to be better .. this week would be a good time to start!! But back to Purdy.. I wanna see us get in his face and make him make some throws under duress. That's when we'll really get to see what he's made of. Oh and let's hope the refs don't let Trent Williams start backing up two seconds before the snap all game long this time around.

I don't know about his size and weight but I do agree I watch these games he is not dead on accurate like Joe Montana /Aaron Rodgers like when he's throwing these balls these dudes are making plays...

I mean they're catching balls that are so far away from the catch radius and that's what they talk about Prescott throwing inaccurate balls, well they got some skilled players over there that can pretty much catch anything and they do and then they make things happen they make dudes miss in the open field... I mean what's that percentage of missed tackles on them, I I don't know but I know this they can throw balls out to the edge where our guys in the last game were just getting swallowed up because you can see that that's the play that was called we all saw it but they're guys they don't usually get tackled in the backfield. they shake dudes off they wiggle, they move, they spin, and then they're gone for eight yards that should have been a four-yard loss...
so they got more yac then many other teams, I mean that is what makes that offense go it's McCaffrey and debo Samuels and that other guy that missed a game I can't remember his name ayuke and then some dude who came in for Ayuk all of a sudden, he's the same player..
They've got the perfect players to run this system and to execute these plays and all the quarterback has to do is just get the ball near them and they do the rest..

I mean let's give Brock Purdy his credit, he can run this offense he's perfect for it but we're going to have to figure out a way to stop the skill players.

I mean they get the ball out pretty quick to these guys that's the whole point that's why it is tough to get to him on a regular basis.

you do remember we just got through this with Arizona on the road on grass and Brock Purdy might not be a mobile quarterback but he sure knows how to move enough to get that ball out to the edges to these guys and are we good on the edges we definitely were not in Arizona, again outdoors on grass, with teams that can run the football and they can do it all over the place around both edges up the middle it don't matter they're gonna motion motion motion until you get so tired chasing them, then they're going to throw the big plays..

To get to Purdy the Cowboys will need to stop the run.
This is what scares me. They run the ball so well and our D front has to be great and make stops. If not, it will open up their scheming passing attack.
And likewise, we will absolutely need to run the ball very well against their D or they will simply T off on Dak and shut our passing attack down.
This game will be won and lost in the trenches. Sure hope our O-line is healthy and our DT's are up for it.

I'm not confident we will get to him and take him down without him going through the middle and running for a bit

He’s the same size as Hurts. I guess that’s why they’re both such bad quarterbacks.

He is not afraid to throw into tight coverage and is very good with ball placement, giving his receiver a chance. He plays with a lot of confidence.

'RonnieT24' - Interesting post from you about his size.

Another young, somewhat diminutive starting QB...
Rookie Bryce Young - 5'10, 204.

Jalen Hurts - 6'1, 223

Russell Wilson - 5'11, 215

[Drew Brees - 6'0, 209; Michael Vick - 6'0, 210]

His teammates trust him, and he's obviously a coach's favorite. The rest is table dressing.

Purdy leads the NFL in passer rating. He lead the NFL in passer rating last year but he didn't get enough games to qualify.

I don't think that Purdy is the best QB in the NFL. That said, he isn't trash either. The big thing with SF is their overall system and playcalling. Purdy does what he is supposed to do within the system. You don't stop SF by stopping Purdy. You stop SF by stopping the entire system.

Dallas has actually been pretty good at that the last few years. The reason for the losses has been almost exclusively offense.

Dallas can not turn the ball over (again) and expect to win. I think MM gets that, which is the base reason for the changes on offense.

Seems like the Cowboys hardly ever tip or knock down passes which bugs me but i guess there's a trade-off because you're essentially giving up on getting a sack when you pause for a jump,,, still though.

The other "thing about Purdy" is he hasn't lost a single game he's finished and has been lights out in every other game he's played in... except vs the Cowboys in the playoffs, when he was merely "solid".

He's #1 in QBR this year by a mile. He makes the right decision seemingly every snap. His TD/INT ratio is absurd and he has elite weapons all over the field.

If he was a high draft pick, there would be no question that he's on the path to stardom.

I'm honestly worried that this kid's the next Tom Brady and the whole NFL world is just whistling past the graveyard right now.

Everybody on that list struggled with injuries throughout their careers .. Young has already missed games and he's only 4 games in. And don't forget Tua.. Another small guy who is in trouble if a defender gets hold of him. They all also had to do different things to compensate for their stature. Vick, Russ and Hurts all use(d) athleticism to get out and make things happen. I don't know frankly how athletic Young is and Tua has not shown himself to be all that athletic either. Same with Purdy. What helps Purdy is he plays behind one of the best lines in football with one of the best backs in football and one of the best receiving groups in football. And a coach who is one of the best at fitting a QB into his system in football. He's in a great situation. I wanna see what he looks like when things aren't so smooth for him. When C-Mac is shut down, the receivers are blanketed and the pass rush is on his arse. Hopefully we get to see all of that Sunday night.

I would love to see Purdy under a lot of pressure, for example being down by 16 points and with only 10 minutes on the clock. I think he is good, but will see.

Like someone said here, its not Cm, its the entire system, lets see if DQ can neutralize it.

You could be right.. only I don't think Purdy is going to have the benefit of playing in the same division as three of the most incompetent franchise in sports for the better part of two decades. The Rams like to win.. the Seahawks like to win.. the Cardinals are.. well the Cardinals but that Dobbs kid bears watching. If he continues on his current trajectory they could be using that #1 overall pick for a stud defender instead of some "might be good QB."
