The Top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL: Where does Tony Romo rank?
http://sportsday.***BANNED-URL***/d.../2016/02/15/tony-romo-rank-among-nfls-top-qbs
.) Aaron Rodgers. When Jordy Nelson went down it looked like the Packers were in trouble. But when you have a player like Rodgers at arguably the most important position in sports, there's always a chance. Green Bay made the playoffs, won a game and then nearly made it to the conference championship game on Rodgers' heroics to force overtime.
.) Tom Brady. I have no problem with anyone arguing Brady should be No. 1. He's certainly the most accomplished QB playing today. What's most impressive is that he continues to get it done without one of the game's top wide receivers.
.) Ben Roethlisberger. The two-time Super Bowl champ missed four games and didn't have great numbers in 2015, but he's still one of the game's best. He's only a year removed from nearly 5,000 yards, 32 TDs and only 9 INTs. The Steelers have made the playoffs eight of the 12 seasons Big Ben has been their QB.
.) Andrew Luck. Maybe a little too high for the former No. 1 pick after he missed nine games last season. But as I've written in previous QB rankings, I believe Luck will win multiple Super Bowl titles in his career. There's no player I'd rather build a franchise around right now.
.) Russell Wilson. He's played in two of the last three Super Bowls, winning one. Some think he's just a game manager, but he threw a career-high 34 touchdown passes and only eight interceptions in 2015. When the game's on the line, there are few better than Wilson.
.) Cam Newton. Am I'm disrespecting the league's MVP by only having him at six? If the ranking was only for 2015, he should probably be No. 1. This past season, Newton threw 35 TDs and ran for 10 more scores.
.) Drew Brees. Even at 37, Brees is still putting up incredible numbers. Over the last two seasons, the former Super Bowl MVP has thrown for 9,822 yards and 65 touchdowns. And he's not exactly playing with an offense full of stars.
.) Tony Romo. When healthy, Romo has played some of his best football over the last few years. Since the start of the 2014 season, Romo has posted a 105.9 passer rating, tops among all QBs. The postseason success is missing, but his value was made clear with how the Cowboys played in his absence.
.) Eli Manning. Although the Giants weren't very good last season, Manning had a good year, throwing 35 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. After throwing 27 INTs in 2013, Manning has tossed 28 in the last two seasons combined. The emergence of Odell Beckham certainly helps.
.) Philip Rivers. Despite San Diego's 4-12 finish, Rivers is still one of the game's best. Over the last three seasons, he's averaging around 4,500 yards, 31 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Most teams don't get anywhere near that consistency from the quarterback position.
