Cowboys need to trade Trey Lance and get a 4th round pick back. Too many holes to fill in 2023 and not enough draft picks. It doesn't get any more ignorant than carrying a 3rd string QB, paying him more ($5 mil) than your backup ($3 mil) and occupying a much needed roster spot once again...just because the owner is a fool who caves to the hordes of Dak haters.

I'm sure those who believe trading for Trey Lance was a waste probably have relatives who hated the Cowboys for giving up a 10th round pick for drafting Roger Staubach or wasting a 5th round pick on drafting Herschel Walker. You never know when a long shot risk suddenly pays off. What looks like a waste of a 4th round pick could look like a genius move should Dak get hurt or end up going to prison.

Cooper Rush is a career backup who doesn't cost much. Every team should have one. Explain using a costly 4th round pick on a BUST of a QB who not only occupies a much needed roster spot but whom you also are paying more than your veteran and proven backup QB? Jerry did this to appease Dak haters. The ignorance and stupidity on his part is why this team keeps failing.

Doubt any team trades for Lance at all - much less for a 4th round pick that the Cowboys (i.e. GM Jones) jumped at to do when the 49ers made him available.

The player saw no action this past season - plus 2024 will be the last year of his rookie contract.
If any other tea has a smattering of interest in Lance...they can just sit back, while the Cowboys continue their tutelage of him now in this offseason - into OTAs - trhrough training camp - observe him in preseason games - then bide their time during the 2024 regular season....then sign seek him out as a free agent in 2025.
